It really is difficult for your dgs to 'fit into' someone else's idea of of how they should be moulded - to turn out like all the rest - believe me ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL.......
Ginnyknit, perhaps as you say a dedicated school might be better in the long run.

Thank you so much for your kind words; as usual you are there in good times and bad, and always say the right thing. I appreciate it so much; you make such a difference.
Ginnyknit, I am so sorry to hear about the problems your DGS has. I am in touch with someone (via Facebook, but I first 'met' her on MSE) and she has an autistic child for whom she has had to fight to get him the right help and understanding and, finally, into a wonderful school. It's a huge ongoing battle for her and her family, but the school is working wonders for him. I do hope your DGS can find the same sort of school. As Jean says, one size does not fit all, especially when it comes to children. I wish him and his family the best of luck.
Once again, thank you all so much. I will keep in touch when I can. and will be back in France on online 'properly' soon.
