Hi, everyone.
Well done to Mrs Twins; 1000 blankets is truly amazing!
Mrs Moneypenny - I hope Alfie is doing well, and that his Mum is finding breast-feeding easier now.
Ginnyknit and Pippa - I hope your OH's are both doing well.
Sam's blanket is looking wonderful - I just love all the blues together. Jean, thanks for posting the photo of it, and, Chalky, thanks for all the work you are doing putting the squares together, and thanks to everyone for the beautiful squares.
The latest update on Sam is that he is doing very well but will be entering an 'intense' phase of chemo in mid May which will last until the end of July, and the family has been warned that it will be very tough for him. Having said that, my son and DIL think he will just get on with it knowing that he has the 'lighter' phase to look forward to straight afterwards, so I hope they are right. He and DIL know Sam better than we do, and they know exactly how he ticks. He gets a bit grumpy due to the steroids he's on and he gets tired; I would like to think that they are the worst of his side effects during the intense phase, but that remains to be seen. We are still not sure when we will be able to see him.
I have to confess that Edna keeps visiting me lately, and I can't seem to quite shake her off. It's not the best of times for the family right now.
I hope the sun is shining somewhere for some of us; it's been pouring with rain for hours here!

Kathy, stress is a terrible thing and you and yours are certainly going through it with Sam its understandable that your body will react and in your case its Edna's visit. We are here for you to let off steam or rant and stamp your feet whenever you need and I will be lighting a candle everynight sending you and your family love light and positivity.Clearing the junk to travel light

Hello to one and all. Thank you so much for the lovely birthday wishes. It has taken us a few days to adapt after travelling and overnight flight but all slotting into place now.
Crafting always helps me settle and I am loving working on Sam's blanket and also I am making a final push with a VERY big blanket I have been working on for years. Many times I have despaired that I would never finish it.
mrs Moneypennyi hope Alfie is doing well. I bet he is growing do much already.
Kathy I think your life must be so hard just now . Not being able to help our children is the hardest burden to carry. If only your son,his wife ,your dear Grandaughter and most of all Sam did not have this hard path to follow. But I know you and your DOH are walking every step metaphorically with them too and we send our love to you as you face such a hard struggle.
Xxxx love to all xxxxTry and do a good deed every day.0
