Mornin all
Had a shock this morning ...the sun is shining...so on went the WM and now all washing is out on the line, don't you just love seeing it gently blowing on the line? and the lovely fresh smell when it's dry
mrs-moneypenny and jean - ... whilst I do love to share all on this thread I do draw the line at the dreaded lurgy,so kindly keep your germs to yourselves:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
seriously though I hope you both manage to shake if off soon x
kathy - I just love being a pensioner and I am quite used to it all now, as it's been some years since I retired, luckily at age 60. I have heard people say 'I don't know how I found time to go to work' I always thought hmmmp rubbish, but I take it all back now I totally agree
psso - O that's a shame, my sister couldn't retire until she was 62 and 5 months, I think the last year of my working life, paid working life I hasten to add, just couldn't pass quickly enough, I think a lot of it was the job I did, even though I had changed to job share it was always in my head and I ended up hating it,
azzabazza - we chat about almost everything, work, crafts, families, friends, share patterns/websites, various charities and all the best woolly bargains :T
But above all we are a group of friends, who share from time to time each others up's and down's, good and bad times, illness and recovery of us and family. if I ever feel down I come in here and have a read through and it always cheers me up, I don't always post but am usually around like a lot of us.
Most of us will probably never meet but we are still 'virtual' good friends, there are no nasty people on here we leave that to some of the other threads...so please keep popping in x
I have almost finished the stash busting ripple blanket just the edging to do now but it looks likely I may run out of wool:eek: BUT I am not buying any more, I will try the cupboard under the stairs and see what is lurking in there,
Sure have rambled on today
Have good day's all Love Anne xx0 -
Pippa.S IF you don't find enough spare yarn at the back of the cupboard under the stairs - try the back of the wardrobe in the spare bedroom.....I assume you have already checked behind the sofa.........ha ha

I always check the loft!!!
Really gone off knitting at the moment despite having 4 unfinished projects - 1 3 ply baby shawl (for no-one in particular), 2 chunky baby blankets (babies not due for another 3 months) and a large santa started after Christmas for a present next Christmas! I think I put so much effort into my memory box blankets I kind of scunnered myself.
Rheumatoid arthritis slightly acting up so that doesn't help.0 -

Thanks, but no thanks to the cold! Hope you feel better soon.0 -
My lovely hubby has told me to take the day off (it's half term so I've not got paid work) I've done as I'm told and so far today have finished the baby cardi and done some cross stitch.
Will start a pair off bootees later when the lights not good enough to stitch by.
I check all those stash Places, it will be a loooong time before I run out of wool!!!SPC~12 ot 124

Afternoon chums.
Pippa, if you've run out of wool I'll lend you little J.he's a good wool seeker.
Last week my DD said she was going to poundstretcher to look for
something, did I want to go with them. A certain young man pipes up, Come on grandma, you can get some more wool in that shop!
Now, as I've said before, DD is my woolly Rottweiler and tries to curb my yarn buying. So the two of them are argy bargying about whether I need more wool or not. I was in stitches at little J, he was so serious because grandma only has a few balls in her bag by her chair. And the rest in various places, don't we all ?
Anyway when we got to the shop he grabs my hand and pulls me along to the aisle with the wool. He started putting red in my basket 'because you don't have any that colour' then a bluey colour because I could knit something for him with it. Really made me chuckle with his antics.
Finally convinced him I didn't really want wool that day but I did need a stand type thing to hold his DVD's and videos so he settled for that instead.
Are you a Scot azzabazza ? Just wondered when you said you were scunnered knitting. I'm scunnered as well, nothing taking my fancy at all.
Think I'm just tired in general. Started the new day job recently, only p/t, but doing the old evening job as well. Bit of a shock to the system after being off work for over a year. Still in training with the new one as the store doesn't open till mid March so early days.
Hope your cold is improving ladies, and no thanks I don't really want you to share your germs with me. You can be as selfish as you want with them.
Hope everyone else is well.
Off to bring in some logs and light the fire, can't seem to get warm today. Even though the sun was shining earlier it is quite chilly.
Roll on the warmer days.:)Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Born and bred psso! Live in SE Scotland but spent a few childhood years in the far NE. Learnt to knit when living up there when I was about 6 or 7!0 -
Well, having told you all yesterday I was scunnered, I took the opportunity to pull out my 3 projects last night for assessment!
Santa's jacket skirt has now been finished and all large pieces have been knitted but not sewn together. Has been wrapped in a pillowcase and stored away until nearer Christmas.
Shawl has been side-lined for a rainy day. Only knitting it because I had the wool in my stash.
Baby blanket 1 is being knitted in Sirdar Chunky Snowdrops (lemon), using my signature pattern. Looking good and is now my current project.
Baby blanket 2 is being knitted in James C Brett Fluffy Chunky (pale blue) again using my signature pattern. Looking awful. Is being abandoned and the 6 unused balls of yarn will be given away when I do my next charity shop run. Not suitable for handing in to my Mum's care home - quite difficult to knit with.
Sirdar have discontinued the Snowdrops yarn and I was unable to obtain the pale blue which knits up beautifully. The JCB Fluffy looks awful - matted and does not show the pattern. I have ordered some Robin Chunky this morning (non-fluffy!!!) so hopefully this should be fine.
Have a good day everyone.0
