    mornin all
very frosty today the cars are both white brrr but the sun is shining so it should help to defrost a little

Had a busy day Friday we went to see Mom at the care Home and called for MrsTwins on the way, she had 2 big boxes of blankets ready all very well received by the manager of the home, some photos on the SIBOL site, OH took the photos and for a change no fingers on the screen :rotfl:
It is lovely to go into the lounge there and see all the oldies wrapped up in the blankets it's a riot of colour

psso - you made me laugh reading your post little J sounds like a real character, I am glad to hear he is being brought up properly to respect the woolly tradition's ;):rotfl:
kathy - great news I am so pleased for him and all of you, yes living near a good hospital is a bonus when something awful strikes, we live near the Queen Elizabeth in Birmingham and it was a godsend when we had to go every day for 6 weeks for treatment after OH's cancer
jean - :T:jO well done thats another step along the path to recovery...cheers xx
mrs-moneypenny - did you enjoy your 'day off' these men are so generous aren't they
ginny - hows things I hope you are all jogging along nicely...well maybe not jogging but you know what I mean ;):)
chalky -ooo well done doing all that driving, hope OH's knee is not quite so painful now xx
azzabazza - I know what you mean about the J C Brett fluffy I tried it once and it just looked matted I gave it up as a bad job
MrsCD -hello nice to see you :) that bible sounds amazing
nursemaggie - I think most of us tend to slow down on the knitting/crochet front when the dark days of winter start to recede and spring is on the horizon, I can see snowdrops, miniature iris and lots of bulbs coming to life in my garden a sure sign it's on the way

I found enough yarn for edging the ripple blanket off
so no excuse for a trip to the wool shop ;)

Turns out the brains weren't scrambled it was a loose connection between the screen and keyboard, the techie man said it may need a new screen...but at the price he quoted I may well have a new one...will go and price some up

Sending love and a cuddle to you all keep warm stay well and enjoy your day love Anne xx

Evening Ladies hope you are all ok - hugs to you all

I've just been reading back, lively to see some new ladies big hello from me xxxx

Kathy - so so pleased to hear Sam's progress, a school friend from Ryan's old school is at present undergoing treatment for ALLs (?) think I have that right , his mum said only yesterday that it has been a year since his line was fitted and was a godsend - they diagnosed his after not recovering from chicken pox last January and almost to the day this year he got shingles ... So that was a bit of a setback for him but I think otherwise he is doing well - thinking of you all and a huge hug xxx

Thinking of ginnyknit, Psso, chalky, roamin, pippa sending you all a hug - if I missed you off have an extra squeeze .......xxx

Mrsmoneypenny not long to go before that baby is here how exciting xxxx

Someone, when I was reading back I think wanted to learn to crochet nursemaggie[/B][/B] I really would recommend Jean for some help .... Also chalky's blog and Mikey @The Crochet Crowd videos on YouTube are really good - if I can learn to crochet after years of trying anyone can ......

I'm on bits and pieces for our local homeless centre and squares at the moment but I did a really stupid thing - I put all my knitted bits for donating in the tumble with a fresh sheet thingy and everything has come out all floppy so I think I have ruined the whole lot :(:(:(

Sorry not been keeping up with you all but think of you all all the time lots of hugs xxxxx

    Morning all
    Hope everyone is well
I spent a lovley weekend mostly knitting. A friend at works sister is expecting and she asked if I would knit a few bits as she can't. The baby is expected to be quite small so I've been going through my little prem patterned and knitted, mayflowers lazy weekend cardi - I hadn't used that pattern before its so sweet! Also the little short sleeved upside down cardi that starts at the neck edge and works down, then I did a bigger sized newborn cardi, a bonnet with flower attached and 2 pairs of different bootees. DD3 came round and mentioned she'd just seen her friends new little boy so I had to knit a pair of bootees in blue then for her! I started another little prem cardi before I went to bed so hope to finish that this week, I think I'm going to keep going till I finish the 2nd 100grm ball of pink then I'll call it a day. That should give her a nice variety of little bits and pieces.
Jean hope the squares got to you ok it was just 4 basic white ones

Got major button sewing on to complete today as I didn't bother getting them out and doing that as I went along

Hi, everyone. Just about to do the update, at last! I hope you are all doing well. Thanks for your kind words about Sam; he continues to do as well as can be - he just gets tired. I hope that's the worst of the side effects, but only time will tell. The doctors are cautiously pleased with how things are going.

F1 - thanks for the reassurance about the line. Your son's friend has the same type of leukaemia (ALL); there are different variants of it, and Sam has the most common. It's a more complicated disease than you first realise, isn't it? I hope your son's friend continues to do well. Sam is so pleased to have been able to choose to have the line fitted; his phobia about needles, according to my son, is not getting any better, bless him.

We had a wonderful Skype call yesterday from our youngest and his family. His two little girls (aged three and five) have joined the majorettes, and we had a brilliant display of baton-twirling from them. So cute; they are going to teach us (granddad, as well!) how to do it when we next visit.

I think I may have missed a few newbies on here, so I want to say a warm welcome to you all.

Off to do the update and will pop back in with the link shortly.

Me again! Here's the update; please let me know if I've made any mistakes. My body is in France, but my heart and soul are in the UK right now.

  • Sorry I've now cleared a bit of space.
Just had a sewing up and adding buttons session. 4 cardis, 2 pairs of mittens, 3 pairs of bootees and a hat can leave the house tomorrow. All but one pair of the bootees are for a work friend who's going to be an auntie soon the other pair are for a friend of DD3 who's had a little boy.

Just been on LH, Lou has posted that because of disability she can no longer knit and has said she will be making an announcement about the site soon,
I've mostly been knitting for the local maternity hospital when I get time so there's no postage but I've found some more eyelash wool so hope to do you some more hedgehogs.
Trying to decide if to knit a pair of mittnes to go with the bootees for DD3s friend or to do a few stitches on my cross stitch. Decisions decisions.......

    Hope all are well
