nursemaggie - I know what you mean I get confused between US and UK terminology, with some patterns I copy paste and change the pattern to UK terms then print it off, makes it easier for me to use then,I make a real pigs ear of some things if I don't
Just been speaking to my DGD's down in West Sussex, they are an absolute delight, growing up so quickly.
DGD1 is 10 and had just come in from guides something she really enjoy's, she told me she is taking her cycling proficency test soon, apparently its in 3 parts now,
DGD2 is 8 goes to Brownies and loves it, very much a tomboy she is usually to be found climbing a tree somewhere, a good runner though very fast, and wants to start playing football at a club with some of her friends
well I am off for a shower I feel a bit tired tonight OH is out playing snooker, got to get geared up for tomorrow...we have a real exciting day...going to the trade place to buy a new TAP now how exciting is that...if I play my cards right we might get some paint as well ...I can hardly contain myself with all the excitement:rotfl:

Good morning, everyone.
I have just done the update (thanks to Jean's wonderful spreadsheet!) which you can find here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdGtRV2JETnNQWmhZcFZ5UGUtSXB6YlE#gid=0
Jean - I hope I've carried on in the right place!
Pippa - your grandchildren sound delightful. My GDD1 (just turned 12) is a bit of a tomboy and races around everywhere at 90mph. She now plays county cricket for a ladies' team and, apparently, is better than most of the boys! Hope your OH is doing well.
Chalky - I hope you arrived safely and that the journey wasn't too much of an ordeal for DH.
Jean - hope your DH is still recovering well
Ginnyknit - hope your OH has a good day today.
Mrs Moneypenny -I bet most of your thoughts these days are on that new baby that's on the way!
No more news of Sam but I hope to hear something this evening once he's had the chemo line installed. I will keep you up to date.
We are having a real mixed bag of weather lately - we wake up to hard frosts, -5 temperatures, and a thick chunk of ice in the water bowl I put out for the birds but, but mid morning, the sun is beaming in a bright blue sky and you could - almost - go outside without a coat. Some people a little south of here have reported seeing cranes flying north this week - is this really a sign of spring on the way? I hope so.
My total for this week is, sadly, just 1 square
I hope you all have a great day.

Me again - don't know if anyone can help. I've tried to edit my sig in the usual way, and it hasn't worked. I've tried it twice - does anyone have any ideas on what I am doing wrong, please?KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Thanks Roamin. I seemed to just get people with strong southern accents who rushed through it and got there fingers in the way of what they were doing so I was putting my knot on and I lost them could not work out what they were doing. Google has collected me hundreds but most I can't understand a word they say.
Got to go to town but I will have a go with this one when I get back. Will probably be after dinner.0 -
Kathy pm on its way to you

Hi everyone, alls quiet here, Im happy to say. Gp decided to announce last week she is retiring and closing the practice down in 3 weeks but she gave us a double script for OH and I managed to get another Gp thisweek who is much better and may even help us.
Am keeping busy while Hubby sleeps and making lots of things. I have decided to turn my office into a sewing room so I can just go and sew instead of messing around. I will be able to have both my machines out and store all my bits and bobs within reach. Work will start on Tuesday after my friend has been to visit - first time we have met in RL - so excited :j
Hoping to have a trip out tomorrow if all goes to plan.
Sending hugs to all and hoping Sam does ok on this next visit xxClearing the junk to travel light

Morning all found out my hairdresser is helping organise a tombola for a cancer charity in August so I've promised her that once I've got the couple of things I'd promised to others done I'll make her a few things for the stall. I prefer local good causes if I can and cancer charities ae always worthwhile.
I've got about 6ft of edging knitted now so I'm about half way.
Hugs and good wishes to all who need them
Glad you got a new doctor so quickly ginny.
Thinking of Sam and praying the results come through that are needed.SPC~12 ot 124

Well, it seems those good wishes, thoughts, and prayers really do make a difference. I have just heard from my son that the results of Sam's bone marrow tests are the best that could have been hoped for at this stage. He is now classed as at 'low risk', has responded well to the chemo so far, and they will keep him on a low intensity level of treatment. We are feeling a bit emotional right now and I can't stop crying with relief. We know it is still going to be a tough road ahead for him, and for the family; he will still have a long three years of treatment, but the news today has made me a very happy Nanny right now!
Thank you all for all your good wishes and kind thoughts. They mean such a lot.
