Hi, Jean; we've woken up to about an inch of snow here. It looks lovely but feels sooooo cold. Methinks I shall be getting in a few more supplies today. I need to go out and post of some squares, so I'll make sure I get that done today, in case we have any more snow. Jean - just read your message on FB - I'll take a look at that link. Thanks!
Have a great day, everyone.

Hello one and all.... Just been reading back and send lots of love to each and every one of my lovely cyber sisters.
pssowhat an amazing effort fundraising. Brilliant. And such good news of your new job.
Jeani hope your fingers are fully recovered. Hope deterrents work re pesky varmints.
mrs Moneypenny I hope your DD is keeping well. When is the baby due.
Ginnyi am so sorry you are having so much time with your husband in bed. But, I know you will be keeping busy.
nursemaggiei will pm my address o you . Thank you so much for joining in with the blanket for Sam.
Kathyi know all your friends here are sending you all their love and hopefully all these positive thoughts are working some magic. I am so sorry you are having to go through all this. Life does seem so cruel at times. The sooner we can hear of Sams next part of treatment the better ,as it will mean he is past the first stage. I know you must be on tenterhooks the whole time and I agree please take care of yourself too.
Welcome to our new pals and lots of love to MIA's
No real news on Dh .. Lots of elevation still going on. But I think we are going to head back to Spain for a month next Thursday. He has agreed to accept assistance at each airport. I think the sunshine and flat walking will do him good. Devon hills are the worst and our little village is surrounded by them. Please don't worry about squares as I have a lovely neighbour who will keep an eye out for them and I will get straight on to the blanket when we come back on the 11th March.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
psso is right Kathy it will be the helplessness of not being able to be there. It could even be tinged with a little guilt at not being there. We are all holding you all up in our thoughts in this difficult time.
I know it is silly to say don't worry you just can't help it. We are half way through another week the five weeks will soon have gone. I know there will be more to come but we will all still be here holding you up.
Oh Roamin I have serious waistcoat envy I have not been able to get warm in this cold weather this last three weeks. Right now I have on 4 vests, 1 blouse, 1 sweater and a thick cardigan. If I put on anything else I will not be able to move.
I dread cooking! My little kitchen never gets any heat unless the oven is on.
I have still not done any squares I have nearly finished my cardigan, on the button band already. I must at least get You Tube looked at to remind me how to do it.
Stay warm everyone and do be careful if you have to go out.0 -
Chalky she's due end of March, so that's why I'm knitting as fast as I can and not managing much else. Still don't know what sort it is so it will be a lovely surprise.
I have taken today off knitting to sort some shredding and mending, DD1gave me a car tow cable that had snapped so can I fix it also some jeans that are too baggy need taking in for her. (Makes a change it was wheel covers to protect the tyres while in the spray booth last time) she always like to set me a good challenge.
I've been trying to work out how the hello kitty swing machine DD2 got fr her fellas little girl at Christmas it came without instructions and does chain stitch that just pulls undone the second you pull it, best I can manage is turning it at the end and sewing across itself so it locks the last stitch - hopefully that will suffice.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi, everyone.
Jean, thank you so much for doing the spreadsheet. What would I do without you? I absolutely love that square, and will give it a go. Thanks for posting the link to the pattern. I shall print it off later. I hope your fingers are feeling a lot better. Hope DH is recovering well, too.
Chalky - I think getting away - especially to flatter terrain - will be a good thing, and you will probably get better weather in Spain! I hope DH is doing well. I've posted my square to you, but have no idea how long it will take to get to you. Thanks, again, for all you are doing. It is much appreciated.
I hope to be doing a bit more crochet than usual over the next few days because I have badly sprained my ankle - I went flying in the snow yesterday as I was in the garden feeding the birds. I thought I had broken it at first, because it made all sorts of crunching noises as I landed on it and, because I was lying in cold fresh snow, I got up immediately, but way too fast, because I felt faint for about ten minutes. I think I sprain my ankle at least once a year; I seem to be prone to it and usually take care, but I think the snow - and the slope in the lawn - got the better of me. I am not going to complain or get cross about it at all; when I think of what Sam is going through, and also my young great-nephew who has to inject himself four times a day due to Type 1 diabetes, a sprained ankle really is nothing.
Thank you all again for your kind words about Sam. I have no new news to report; we are just waiting for the bone marrow test on Friday, and hopefully will get the results quickly. I do wish I was there right now but I know there would not be much I could do - his immunity is very low, and I would hate to bring outside germs in that could cause infection. We will go back when asked but, if that doesn't happen, we are planning to go back at the end of March, beginning of April.
Mrs Moneypenny - not long now, and I think it's lovely that you don't yet know what the baby will be. All of my grandchildren were 'surprises' because their parents wanted to wait until they were born before they knew whether they were boys or girls - it's how it used to be years ago, before technology took away the magic, and makes it so much more exciting - although no help at all when wondering what colours to knit!
Ginnyknit - I hope your OH is feeling better today.
Nursemaggie - I hope you're managing to keep warm. It sounds as if you are wearing more layers than I am! Roll on the spring, I say!
Well, I've just put a chicken stew in the slow cooker so that dinner tonight will be easy; I'd rather do the food prepping in the morning, and I love my slow cooker for that. The stew is just going to cook itself for the rest of the day.

I agree Kathy, my 5 were all much wanted 'surprises' I had scans but always asked not to be told the sex, so much more fun in the labour room. I don't like knowing what my Christmas pressies are before I unwrap them;)
Ouch your poor ankle, please take care. I hope it's feeling much better soon.
Love the crocheted square.SPC~12 ot 124

OK own up - who stole my week? Where did those days all go? Will read back and do a catch up later today, in the meantime, sending you all loads of love, positive vibes and extra cuddles. Praying that the news on the Mioliere family front will be good and soon.
