first physio session was this afternoon, he has had heat treatment, oil massage and told to get back into the big body brace - he is not that happy a bunny - but it was explained that he will repair a lot better and quicker while in that one. So we are off walking tomorrow - will take the pampervan and when he gets shattered he can lie down and have a kip while I trudge round the lake with my Texas Gal Pal........

    hi peeps
chilly today but dry thank goodness...big coat and socks on when we went to the home today

Mom is loving every minute in the care home, and has perked up no end, still can't walk and I am sad to say very likely never will again, but still cheery and chatting to the other residents so now we can calm down and relax a bit, it has been 18 weeks since she broke her hip and we are flagging...but as long as she is happy so are we :)

Her flat is cleared and cleaned and the keys handed back so another page closes and another one to tick off the list, just a few more people to inform and that should be it phew!!!

Jean - scary sisters nah!!! I can see the smiley eyes ;) looks like you could both do with a bit of sunshine though you look decidedly green around the gills :rotfl: shame he has to have the big brace back on but it is for the best, enjoy your truge around the lake
ginny - great news about the sales well done. DDIL bought a double size quilt cover for DGS's bed as she couldn't get a single one, so I cut it down and made a couple of cushions out of the left overs, VW beetles, campers and Mini cars he loves them
mrs-m - I can sympathise with you, bit different circs here but hard work, not only physically but emotionally, how is MIL doing now? the drs and hosp appts really take a chunk out of the day don't they

All christmas things parcelled up and sent down to West Sussex for the girls school Christmas fayre, cost £2:80 and just under 2kg, wrapped in a plastic post bag, classed as a small parcel, P.O lady said it is special price until sometime in January :)

Lazy night planned here watching TV and crocheting a twirly scarf with glittery yarn from 99p shop on 3 for 2 offer so it cost just £1:98

Love to you all stay warm folk Love Annie xx

Hi, everyone. I hope you are all keeping as well as can be. I've been MIA - again. I've been helping someone with a really complex probate problem that he's trying to deal with in the UK while he is living in France. Sadly, he can't read or write very well, and was struggling badly with the paperwork that he is getting from the solicitors, and other family members are causing him problems, too. He was trying so hard to sort it out on his own but suddenly turned up on our doorstep with a huge file of papers and letters that he hadn't even opened! I wish he'd come to us, or someone, sooner. Anyway, it has taken me way back to my days as a legal secretary, but we are gradually getting to the end of it!

I've also been kept busy as Admin on a FB group (set up for expats who want to go back to the UK). I can't believe how busy that has been; there are many people living in France who want to back for various reasons - can't find work, can't afford the high cost of living here, missing family (my main reason!), and disappointment with the health and education side of things and, of course, the world-famous French red tape! Jean, you must really love it here! Love the socks, by the way, and the bonkers photo of you and your sister. You are very alike, aren't you? Hope DH is recovering as well as possible.

Ginnyknit - sounds like you are doing really well with your selling!

Anyway, I can see that the thread is a little quiet but we are now well into the run-up for Christmas - exactly a month away, in case you need reminding! I've been working on presents and, in between, just turning out some preemie hats because they are quick and easy. I have a friend going back to the UK for Christmas, so will ask her to take them to her local maternity ward.

Pippa - I am so glad that your Mum is so happy in her new home. It must be such a relief to you.

I need to catch up with the update, and with all the posts that I have missed, so will do that this afternoon.

I hope you are all having as good a day as possible.

    KathyXX
