Hi everyone. I'm having intermittent internet problems which Orange says is an 'outside' fault, so they were apparently fixing it this afternoon. I've been on and off for days now, and it's been driving me scatty.

Lovely booties, Jean, and I love the colour! How is DH?

Chalky - it's been so cold here lately that we are living on homemade soup. I try and have one on the go in the slow cooker most days!

Ginnyknit - I made a few Jean Greenhowe clowns when knitting was not as painful as it is these days; they they are lovely patterns, aren't they? Hope your OH is having a better day today.

Will do the update tomorrow, once I am sure that I am back online without problems. We have a Remembrance Day service at the local war memorial in our commune, followed by a 'glass of friendship' at the local restaurant, and there is also an exhibition of war memorabilia, so we will be taking part in that tomorrow morning. I know it's for the fallen of France, but I will be thinking of our own, too.

    Hugs to you all.

Well we have been so sleepy all day yesterday and today. I went to Yoga this morning then had a Shiatsu massage afterwards from my Yoga teacher and that gas relaxed me to an almost comatose state. So just soup waffling tonight.

I found some lovely Stylecraft chunky wool in the charity shop here and started to knit a scarf just night on huge needles BUT the clicking got on my nerves never mind DOHS. So must have a look on Ravelry for a simple cowl on two needles. I would like to make one for said lovely Yoga teacher.

I have had to stop latest blanket as run out of a very necessary border yarn . So will bring a ball or row back with me in the new year and finish it then.

I am reading the Kashmir Shawl at the moment and am enjoying it very much. Perhaps you gave read it dear cyber sisters?

Lots of love to one and all x

I read The Kashmir Shawl last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. One of those- I'll just read a few more pages before I switch off the light.

Finished the two scarves in funky fur type yarn. Started a blanket buddy but didn't like the way it was going so ripped it out. Will start again tomorrow.

Signed off again till the end of the month, as practice manager wants an independent report from occupational health before she lets me back to work. Also have to have assessment by one of the other gp's,not the one I usually see. Hoops to jump through.

Days getting colder now, car windscreens were frosty this morning. Brrr.

Hope poorlies feel better - had a bout of sickness today so been dossing about in nightie and dressing gown all day.
    Hopefully better tomorrow.

Good morning one and all and lots of love tucked in,especially for the poorlies.

Early morning rain here so we have been catching up with ourselves after the visitors departure. I could never run a B&B!!!!

We are going out for lunch with a neighbour in a while so just thought I would pop in and say hello.

I am coming to the end of a Kasmir Shawl and would recommend . Glad you enjoyed it psso

Well I have not found a cowl pattern yet but that is next on my list of things to do!

Morning Ladies (and anyone else in the thread)
i am also a knitter, and know Moiliere & Chalky from other threads, but I have a question for you.
I am out in Spain at the moment, and one of my neighbours, another knitter, has knitted some vests. a previous owner used to collect them for an African charity, and she got pictures back of the children wearing them. She has a pile of these vests, and does not know what to do with them. Can any of you suggest a suitable route for them, we can bring them back to the UK with us in the car, so it does not need to be Spanish based.
    Thanks in advance. DG

donny-gal welcome -glad you popped in, first suggestion would be the cheapest - donate locally in Spain - orphanages? unwed mums/baby units/refuges,either in Spain or the UK, second suggestion if you can parcel them up L.I.L.Y are always happy to receive items for Syria they have a blog
    http://love-in-the-language-of-yarn.blogs
and also a presence on face book
    https://www.facebook.com/LilyLoveInTheLanguageOfYarn
I also believe that they had a 'collection point' in the UK at one time (Rotherham?) which would save postage, but not sure if it's still going.

Just finished number 6 pr of bootees..... don't think I will be at the machine again till next week - have a bit of catching up to do around here. Sending you all love and cuddles.

think that the snazzy yarn is just a step too far tho' so I will revert to what passes for normal in my corner of the world! haha DH has his next review xray and scan, specialist, telling off etc on Monday next - so fingers crossed he at least gets the OK to get out of the bed a bit more than the visits to the loo- oh and sitting up to have his meals would be a great help as well - not asking for too much then we won't be disappointed with the answers. He is certainly cheery - that could be all the delish cakes I am stuffing into him tho'.
