Hi Kathy, my you really were godsend to your friend, he must have been relieved to have help.

I think everyone is so busy coping with life and trying to fit Christmas in that they arent posting here or on my other sites.

I have been busy making bunting for a friends Dgs, it was my first time but am pleased with the results. Now its time to mke things for family. Got a call yesterday that my daughter in law is poorly possibly appendix so she is having scans today. Thank goodness it happened before they strted trying for baby.

Am just waiting for friends to arrive on their way to the airport. Its the ones that moved down south a few months ago. Helen goes home to her family in South Africa every year for Christmas and Steve has a quiet time at home as he hates this time of year and his mental health problems wouldnt let him fly anyway.

All tidy and lunch nearly ready for them so will go and do a little crochet before they rrive .

    hugs to all

Hello, everyone. I hope your days are going as well as can be. We have lovely sunshine here today, so I hope you are all enjoying the same.

I have done the update, which you can find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDREdE9nS2pPYTRlcFQ3Ujc5ekNKamc#gid=0

Elaine - I have put your blanket buddies under 'Miscellaneous' for now; is that OK with you?

We are having another good year; our running total is over 1200 items, which is wonderful, so thank you all for what you have done and continue to do, especially as life really does take over, doesn't it?

    WHAT WE DO

I have been thinking about doing a new What We Do post, but our group has changed in that many of us (to save on the very high cost of postage) now donate to local charities and causes, and some also have special causes that they like to devote a certain amount of time to, like Chalky's I Can Make a Difference event in September, and her Hedgehog 'homing' centre in Devon, and Roamin's inexhaustible supply of different ideas, and so on.

Does anyone still send to Loving Hands? I have been unable to log on to that site for ages now, so I no longer send to it. I have also neglected SIBOL, which I feel sad about, and intend to put right next year.

I would be really grateful if you could let me know what causes you send to, if there are any that you want me to include in the new What We Do, and anything else you can think of that I can post about.

As we are now hurtling towards the end of yet another year, I want to restart the thread in the New Year; it will be Part 5. Can you believe this whole thing started SEVEN years ago? That is truly amazing, isn't it? Pink, bless her heart, usually told me when a thread had got too long and that it was time to start the next part, and she would do the necessary to get it up and running. I see she is still listed as a board guide, along with Zippychick, so, now that she is sadly no longer with us, I have asked Zippychick to let me know what to do.

I will let you know when I hear back from her.

Love and hugs to you all

Following on from my last post, I have already heard from Zippychick and she says it will be easy to restart the thread, so I will be sending her a reminder during the first week of January, when all the excitement and planning of Christmas and the New Year is over, and Part 5 of our thread will start then.

Please think hard about what you would like me to include in our new What We Do post! All ideas and good causes are welcome!

Kathy excellent idea to start a new thread. All sounds good. I must work out how to add my makes for charity on my post as I never do - yay I did it, so simple!

I send to Sibol as you all know but tend to send items to friends in need of cheering up when they are having a bad time. Im supporting a friend who is trying to keep her income upto the breadline at the moment despite all her efforts she has had her employed hours cut and tries to run a small business doing craft stalls. This week I am making her doggy biscuit wreaths to sell at a couple Christmas stalls. Bless her she is so supportive of all but needs a break.

latest total - 4 blankets to sibol

i still go on loving hands but tend to support things i can hand deliver or post direct myself, i believe lou is trying to encourage that rather than her getting stuff and then having to re distribute it.

still working on the mini stockings, im hoping to be all knitted up by friday then sew up over the weekend to take them in for decoration day on monday.

realised i hadnt actually shown you a photo of what DD2 is making at the mo;)

Ginnyknit - glad you added your totals. I've just added your name and totals to our spreadsheet. You should be able to click into the link in my last post to see it. I don't know how to put names in alphabetically, but hopefully our spreadsheet expert, Jean, will do it for me so, for now, your name is the last one along! You sound like such a caring friend to those in need, and I love the idea of doggy biscuit wreaths!

Mrs Moneypenny - definitely AWWWWW. What an amazing picture!

I am looking forward to starting the new thread, and to doing a new What We Do.

By the way, Ginnyknit, you can add your totals to your 'signature' so that they appear at the end of every post you write, and so that you can keep tabs of them. Just go into User CP at the top of the page, then 'Edit Signature', type in the box, then 'Save Signature'. We usually clear our signatures at the start of each year, and Jean does a brand new spreadsheet for us, too, bless her cotton socks!

Hope OH is doing well, by the way.
