edit just had a lovely email from the hospital thanking me for the hats i took in this morning, passing on thanks to F1 and anyone else who sent me hats for them (sorry brain is mush atm) they also enclosed 3 patterns 2 for hats and 1 for triangles for the mums to put their 'scent' on for the babes who are in icu. basically plain hats with no ribbons flowers or bows pref in pastel colours. so all the ones taken in today were perfect.SPC~12 ot 124

Everyone seems busy perhaps you have all started on your Christmas crafting.
PSSO I am not knitting Pippa's scarf hers is single rib mine is two rows double knit and two rows garter stitch. I still keep starting to do the double rib in the middle of a knit row. I will have to stop reading when I am knitting.0 -
Hi everyone, and I hope you are all as well as can be. We arrived back on Sunday from the part of France that had serious flooding the day after we left, so we were lucky to get away. I was glad to get back because I started to feel ill on Saturday and came back with a horrid bug, which DH has got not. But that was nothing compared to coming back to a sick little tabby cat. She was fine when we left and, according to our neighbours who were looking after her, fine until Saturday, then she looked a bit 'puffed up'. They knew we were back on Sunday so didn't phone us up. We didn't see her at all until Monday morning when we opened the front door and saw her sat looking blown up like a balloon and feeling really sorry for herself. We took her straight to the vet who sadly decided that she could not be saved. Mercifully, it took less than thirty seconds for the injection to work, and we carried her home and buried her in the garden. Apparently, she could have had cancer but the vet said it would be unkind to run tests on her because she was on her way out, anyway.
Anyway, I've not caught up with all the posts so will do that over the next couple of days when I am feeling a bit better. I will also do the update asap.
Jean - how is your DH?
Mrs Moneypenny - hugs to your Mum, and I am so sorry to hear about your uncle.
I promise I will catch up with everything tomorrow. Hugs to you all.

What a sad homecoming for you Kathy. Big hug.
Nursemaggie, sorry saw the rib bit and thought it was the same as I'm doing, that'll teach me not to skim over posts quickly.
Been pulling back the grannies today. Decided I wouldn't have enough yarn to finish the blanket using bigger squares, and no guarantee I'd be able to get the same again, so making them a couple of rounds smaller like one I did before.
Malteser slice,Mars bar slice and Crunchie slice done and fairy cakes about to be made into butterflies for tomorrow's coffee morning. Phew.
Best get cracking or I'll be dashing about in the wee small hours.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

mioliere - glad your home save from all the storms, but sad to read about the wee cat big cuddle to you.
mrs moneypenny- hope your wee duck is found soon - don't like them out there in that big wide world on their own. Pleased to hear about the hats, will crack out a few on the machine over the next week or so SIL due to arrive on Monday which MIGHT give me a bit of craftyness time.
DH was grumpy (Tuesday I think) but that soon passed and he is now Mr Happy again. I gave him a number 1 buzz cut yesterday morning before I changed his bed.... he wasn't too happy but after nearly drowning him with the polythene back shampoo method I feel its a safter option - he isn't going anywhere much for the next couple of weeks anyway - so who will notice??? ha ha
Loads of Love, positive thoughts and enormous cuddles to you all.

Mom has had so many falls since she has been in the enablement centre, she keeps trying to walk on her own and really can't but forgets she can't, the last fall she cut her head and paramedics had to glue it as it wouldn't stop bleeding.
Had a phone call from a lady at social services the other day and she wants a meeting with us next week to discuss the next move, so we shall see.
I sent the little smoothie hats off in the week also a freepost parcel to the Mission to Seafarers, so update to follow
TTFN sending love 'n'hugs to you all

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been MIA again. I am still full of cold and have a horrid cough that keeps me awake at night, so I am tired, too! I have finally done the update, which you can find here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDREdE9nS2pPYTRlcFQ3Ujc5ekNKamc#gid=0
Nursemaggie - a warm welcome to you. It sounds as if you've been really busy! If you would like to list all the things you've made for charity, including those you have made for your local hospice, they can be added to our spreadsheet, which is a running total of all the things we make. Roamin in the Gloamin devised the spreadsheet for us, and the intention is to update it every Monday, but I have to confess that life gets in the way sometimes, so it's not as regular as it should be! I think most of us are probably starting to think about Christmas present-making, so you are not alone!
Mrs Moneypenny - that hat is truly amazing. I have been wondering what you would come up because it was a difficult task, but you've worked wonders. Hope your MIL is doing well.
I'm loving the links, so will be taking another look at them when I feel a bit more human.
Jean - hope DH is doing well and not testing your patience!
Pippa - hope your mum doesn't have any more falls. It's such a worry, isn't it?
Thanks for all your kind words about the little cat; we are still feeling sad but we know we did the right thing for her.
I am sure Chalky is having a wonderful time, although if we find out she has been to George Clooney's wedding without telling us, she'll be in trouble!
Have a great evening, everyone. Hugs to all in need of one.

Evening all, been a wet and miserable day here so the heating is on !
DD & little J came and picked me up to go out with oldest granddaughters birthday card and pressie. Hard to believe she's 14.
The coffee morning yesterday went well. The three hours went quickly and the teacher who was in charge said they had about four hundred pounds in the kitty, with more to be counted. Cakes were nearly all gone,we wrapped what was left on paper plates and cling film and put them in the staff room for the teachers to fight over.
Two cowls done with the remainder of the wool from the blankets. Not bad, a blanket and a cowl from 300g of chunky Flutterby.
Latest granny blanket is having the border done now, then will be trying some jam jar cosies. Not particularly useful, but very pretty and might do for C*****mas decorations or pressies.
Back later to update.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.
