Me again...
Thank you ginny PM on its way to you
I hope you managed to get your washing in before it started raining, good luck with the shoe hunting, I managed to get a nice pair of black suede flaties with tiny black stones on the toes and back of the heels for £12:99 from a shop called Deichmans, just wanted something a bit different but not pay the earth for them
mrs-m - I never thought they could re-sell plots. I hope the funeral went as well as they ever do, such a sad time, I have lost count of the neighbours funerals we have been to over the 33 years we have been in this house, some of them leave a big hole and are remembered with affection even now after all this time.
well now...I suppose I better go get the washing in, its out back under the cover so no matter if it rains, but I don't like leaving it out late...
Hospital was awful today, might have an early night I feel sooo tired

Hi everyone; hope you are all enjoying the same sunshine that we are getting here this week!
After a horrendous day yesterday, I have finally done the update, which you can find here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDREdE9nS2pPYTRlcFQ3Ujc5ekNKamc&usp=drive_web#gid=0
Pippa - I have put your cowl under the 'scarf' category.
Dibuzz - have added your items from last week.
Chalky - hope you are keeping a running total of all your September makes in between looking after your DD1 - hope that she is getting better each day.
Well, my car (the one we do all our long trips in, so the one we want to take to the south of France next week) died on us yesterday morning. By sheer luck, we were in the supermarket car park. DH tried to sort it out but it was obviously an electrical problem. We had replaced the battery on Monday, so we knew it couldn't be a flat battery. Anyway, we know someone who works in the supermarket, and he kindly let us borrow his car so that we could get home and phone the auto electrician. DH then had to take the friend's car back, and the friend then brought DH home, then the auto electrician came and picked DH up to go back to the car (are you still with me?). He couldn't get it going, so we had to get the insurers to arrange to collect it and bring it home. The garage they sent tried to insist that they take the car back to their garage so that they could do the work on it (mega euros!) but DH wanted it taken back home. In the end, the insurers arranged for another garage to collect it and bring it back. The auto electrician has just come back out and he and DH are out there now trying, hopefully, to get the thing going. All this took up most of the day, so not much else got done here. Before we went out, DH was repairing the roof; when the chap who destroyed the hornets' nest did his work last week, he cracked several tiles, so they will need fixing before it rains. DH had started it, but has had to leave it to sort the car out. Well, it was a day full of problems that we could have done without. It could have been much worse, though; I could have been driving it on my own, down one of the many country lanes around here, and it could have been at night in the pouring rain so, if it was going to happen at all, it did it at the right time!
Mrs Moneypenny - I hope your MIL is doing as well as can be.
Pippa - hope your Mum is doing well.
Ginnyknit - how is your DH?
Oh, and another thing. Through Amazon UK, I bought a new slow cooker in July to replace my very ancient one. I am really pleased with it but it has a glass lid and there was a deep scratch on it, so I was a bit unsure whether to keep using it. I didn't want it to shatter in the heat. Anyway, I emailed Amazon and asked for their advice and within ten minutes I had a reply saying that they were really sorry and that a new one had already been dispatched to me, free of charge. They also said that, as the postage to return the damaged one would be costly from France, I could keep that one, too. Isn't that amazing service?! This the one I bought http://www.amazon.co.uk/Morphy-Richards-Accents-48702-Cooker/dp/B00888X55S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1409996539&sr=8-1&keywords=morphy+richards+sear+and+stew+slow+cooker and I love it because you can use it on the hob to brown everything, then put it straight in the slow cooker. It's brilliant and I have been using it almost every day so, despite the scratched lid, I thoroughly recommend it. I just have to be patient and wait for the new one to arrive. I had to dig out my old one which now has a chicken curry in it for dinner tonight.
Anyway, that is life chez nous at the moment. I really hope we can still get down south; I could do with a break!

Jean - your post crossed with mine! What gorgeous hats. Do you want to add them to the spreadsheet when you have done all thirty? Good luck with the caterpillars! We had to cut one of our shrubs right back to its bare bones earlier this year, because of an infestation of tent caterpillars - there's always something, isn't there?

Hi everyone. A gentle day today. Dd1 watching a film with leg up. Bruising still coming out.
I am gently sewing cushion fronts I have been thinking about stuff in general whilst life has almost stopped as we look after her. By which I mean... Everyday stuff. I hate too much of it. Since de - cluttering our house when we had the major refurb I realise life is so much less tiring when drawers and cupboards are not so full you have to ram them. I have stopped saving things for best.... Towels are a prime example. I would keep using old towels when I had lovely new ones waiting to be used in the airing cupboard.
Tea sets another.... I had about three sets yet always use mugs.
So over the last few days I have been looking again and filling the cracks between the cushions with things I never use. And I know I will never miss any of it. Drawers are easy to shut and life is easier.
jeangreat hats. It must be great to be able to use a machine and see them grow so quickly. What a lovely thing to do to echo my September days.
Kathywhat a nuisance about the car I hope it gets fixed soon. Have a great time
pippalovely makes as always
Ginnyhave you started thinking about autumn planting yet?
Mars Moneypenny I think its sad about plots in graveyards
pssoi hope you are beginning to feel stronger xx
Well lots of love to one and all xxxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Just popping back to say that, thanks to our auto electrician friend who came over this morning, my car is back on the road. The problem was a fuse in the immobiliser thingy, not that I really understand it all, I only drive it!
Chalky - my mum decided years ago to stop saving things for best because, as we all know, life is too short. You can end up saving things and never ever using them, can't you? I do de-clutter regularly as a form of packing ready for when we finally sell the house. It's a nice feeling knowing that everything you have in the house is there for a good reason.

I don't think I ever keep anything for best - I use it all!
Yesterday was obviously the day from H*ll in France... the micro-convec-grill oven thingie bought 15th July, WELL yesterday the light wasn't working in it. Dh returned it - its now on its holidays back with the manufacturer should be about a fortnight ! GGGRRRR yes we have a'proper oven' but it takes while to heat up and is much to big for two rolls at a time! We shall just have to put up with it and hope it will be returned in two weeks (ha fat change - we have been here before with other things). Love and cuddles to you all, glad you got the car fixed Kathy. hats at 30 please.......... I shall keep a count (that should be easy just one day at a time one hat at a time

JEAN, this is only the sixth and you've done seven hats. Are you trying to confuse me, easily done !!
Been out all keeping DS company on a two hour drive to go Pike fishing.
Everywhere round here is trout. A ball of the new 'stock' was turned into three large squares, on to ball two now.
Kathy - Glad your car was fairly easily fixed and you'll be able to have your break.
Pippa - lovely makes.
JEAN - caterpillars grrrrr. Had hundreds of the lighters on a Bush, sprayed them with soapy water. All the leaves fell off as well as the beasties.
Signed up to pinterest as someone was sending me links. What a great way to waste time. Been surfing for ages. Naughty me.

Elaine - I have seven hats because I am ONE ahead - just in case I can't get one done some day ... forward planning - although Chalky did say just do the whole lot, it's tempting so am pacing myself with sna'peeps in between the hats.
Ye all have a superb Sunday
