It would be lovely, Jean, if you could do the updates while I am being a lounge lizard. I will be taking my laptop and my tablet and should be able to log on from my brother-in-law's house, but just in case something goes wrong, it would be great to leave it in your capable hands. I have no idea what you mean by a ME mail, but yes please!

Off to get the car serviced before our long trip next week. We had to buy a new battery this week (€119!!) - we have been told we could have got it cheaper, but it's bought now. So, what with the hornets' nest, and the new battery, we're over €200 lighter unexpectedly! And, Jean, we did get the bill for the fosse inspection - about two months after they did it - another €60. Just think of all the wool I could have bought instead!

Chalky - have you read my pm yet? Hope your DD1 is doing well.

Will pop in and do the update later on.

Hands full with Dd1. Her house has lots of steps and a shower over the bath. She is not allowed to put any weight down on her foot so we are picking her up every day and looking after her.

Had first physio but they think it's going to be long haul!

Hope everyone is full of September beans if not please have some September dreams. Lovely friends with your hands overflowing I send the gentlest hug!

Sending hugs too all, things are tough in so many and varied ways for everyone.

Hope tomorrow is a better day for all. I'm hoping to get out of the house for the first time since Saturday apart from the funeral. I have kept busy and sewn chickens and Christmas stockings. Knitted a couple pigs and half a doll!

Chalky will look in the CBS's for a shirt tomorrow. Pippa can u put your flicka link up as I love seeing your makes x

    hugs to everyone
    kathy enjoy you time away

spent the whole day cleaning yesterday so puter didnt go on at all - i did do a panel on my scarf while watching a dvd last night so a bit of treat time was included.

got to finish the cleaning today, work then go to the funeral of a lovely neighbour who ive known 30 years:( will be raising a glass to her when i get back tonight.

will sort out a shirt over the weekend and strangely going to a local cemetry with DH to see if we can find his great grandmothers grave. Its within walking distance of our house but he was never told see was there until after his dad died. sadly shes under someone else who's family bought the plot so there is no mention of her on the headstone and i wonder if they know she is there:eek:

anyway weather looks good so wm is on and im hoping to get another book folded today and another panel of scarf done.

i took the book into school and the librarian confessed yesterday she loved it so much shes taken it home so can she have another for the school :rotfl:

    have a great day all

Thanks ginny. So sorry both you and mrs moneypennyhave funeral sadness. This getting older malarky is not much fun sometimes.

I have purposely had a VERY lazy start to my day as Dd1 and the gorgeous springy Buster are coming to stay until Monday as her partner is away until then.

DSILwho has just moved into the village wants a chutney making lesson so we are doing that this afternoon. As her son has just moved closer and eats the stuff like no mans business.

Then this evening 3 of my daughters lovely friends are coming for a meal. We are escaping to aforementioned SIL ... So they can have a good chin wag. Meatballs and blackberry and apple crumble already in the fridge.

So not too much sewing going in today but that's fine.

Well you lovely cyber sisters I send love as always and wishes for the start of your weekend xxxx

I read this ,this morning and thought of you all ...

W.B. Yeats (1865–1939). The Wind Among the Reeds. 1899.

Aedh wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

HAD I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
Try and do a good deed every day.

Morning everyone a gorgeous day here again
Just finished sorting some yarn out for a scrappy blanket, I have so many tiny balls to join up, last time I made one I had a small mixed ball left so I will add to it, should end up with a sizeable ball
I should be outside planting an Hydrangea I bought a couple of days ago but just popped in to see what you are all up to ;)

ginny - aww thank you here it is... http://www.flickr.com/photos/pippa-anne
how is little man lately? I hope your OH is feeling a little easier now

chalky - I have been trying to leave a comment on your blog but it wont play :( ...OH has quite a few shirts that are too big for him now since the cancer so I will have a rootle round and find an appropriate one and send it for you to work your magic on :)

kathy - enjoy every minute of your break x

I went to get something from the freezer earlier and saw the blackberry/apple crumble we made when the girls were here, one of our days out was at Sarehole Mill (where Tolkien had the idea for his novels) we had such fun picking the blackberrys racing around to see who could pick the bigest and juiciest, it is lovely in the woods there.
We stashed our tasty "treasure" in the car, then went exploring the Mill and wandered round the back to the garden the pond and Millwheel, it is so beautiful round the pond we had a wonderful day.
The Miller, I think he is part of the Tolkien Society, laid out some games for the girls to play really old wooden ones and a game sort of like hoop-la with short wooden poles and rope rings to throw, the girls sat and played for ages quite content, while nanny and grandad had a well need cuppa :)

O and we left a 'little yellow duck' in the coffee chop tucked into a corner of the counter

Love to you all Annie xx

Pippa sounds like a wonderful trip out, my kind of place. Your flicker page is stunning and I adore the tartan blanket. I am making tartan cushions with some fabric I already have but it would be too heavy for a matching throw so will crochet one up instead.

Mrs Mp hugs to you re-funeral. They do strange things with old graves dont they. My aunts grave has disappearred from the cemetry behind our house so will have to investigate soon.

Its going to tipple down here any minute so must get the washing in. Oh took me out for lunch and a pootle round the cs's - £25 for a pair of shoes  I only want a pair of black flatties for Ds's blessing day as I really dont wear shoes often. Will go somewhere not so posh next week and look. Found a vintage style handbag hidden in the wardrobe so that will do fine. Just a top and the shoes and im done.
