Well done on the crocheting, nothing wrong with just doing squares and blankets.
I've managed to knit a little, just doing a bit every other day for now.
Thanks to Mrs Moneypenny I've tried a circular needle and it is easier on my hand/thumb so I will be getting a couple more although I don't think I will be brave enough to knit in the round.

F1 well done, you will now live in a world populated by granny squares! I have odd ones all over the house - hmmm....think I will cobble them all together and see how big a blanket I can make. I added you on Fb hunny xx

I am on day 2 of a 3 day break from OH, his buddy has taken him to a disabled fishing place - we all chipped in for his birthday. It so quiet and I have to say its as good as a holiday. I eat when I feel like it, snooze, sew knit - well pretty much the same as I do usually but no interupptions.

Well done F1. Knew you could do it, funny how sometimes it just takes a while to 'click' then boy o boy there's no holding you back. Grannies can be used for so many things too.

Ginnyknit, glad to see you are enjoying some 'me' time. Good to be able to eat, drink, sleep whenever you like and recharge your batteries.

SparkyG, how is the hat going ?

Chalky, hope Archie isn't missing his 'mum' too much.

Raw,cold and miserable here today, looks like summer has been and gone.Think I'll put the kettle on for a nice warming cuppa with a custard cream or two.

    Hello everyone.
I've just completed my 5th hat, but they are all different shapes and sizes! I've used 3 different patterns, and have experimented with needle sizes and numbers of stitches to try and get a good result. Feel quite pleased with what I have done so far, and hope that they will be useful.

F1 Widow- knitting has certainly helped with my anxiety these last few days. I call it my "indoor walking", as it has the same soothing repetitive effect as walking, which I've also been doing a lot of too. I try and get out most days with my friend, and we average about 4 - 5 miles whilst chatting and sorting out all our problems.

That's all for now - must start my 6th hat. This is getting addictive!

    Best wishes to all

  • well done SparkyG that's 5 heads that will be a lot warmer thanks to you. Have you settled on a pattern, needles, yarn yet? Or are you continuing to 'speriment?
Ginnyknit - are you still in your PJ's our your staycation??
hope your enjoying the change - suit yourself days are my favourites the don't come around very often in this household so I usually make the most of them. you should too.
dbuzz - glad your managing well with the circular needles I love mine have three different sizes -but as I still have a tin full of DPNS I feel I should really buy any more circs for the time being.
Thirzah - you are certainly doing great on the shoe boxes, I haven't even started I am still on the family knitting - but I do hope to get stuck in come Monday morning and I promise not to stop till there is a box of goodies ready to go - not sure where or what I will be making but I am so full of enthusiasm I had better turn it to good use.
PSSO - if you feel cold get that heating on - or get the DS to go nick some wood from somewhere local!!!!
Love and cuddles to all - I will be back

Hi everyone, I have finally done the update. I am so sorry it's taken so long but time has really run away from me and I thought I really must get it done before DS1 and his family arrive a bit later on today.

Pippa - I hope your Mum is feeling a bit better now.

You can find the update here:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDREdE9nS2pPYTRlcFQ3Ujc5ekNKamc&usp=drive_web#gid=0

Thirzah - I have put all your shoe box items under 'Operation Christmas Child', which I hope is OK with you?

Anakat - beautiful decs! I have put them under 'Miscellaneous' but may add a separate category for them. I'll see what Jean thinks!

F1 - well done on getting to grips with crochet - there'll be no stopping you now!

Jean - I tried to add SparkyG and her hats to our spreadsheet but it won't let me and I didn't want to fiddle around with it in case I messed it up. When you have time, can you see if you can do it, please!

Will catch up with you all when I can over the next few days.
