There are several good sites for prem baby things but I won't overload you just now. Just give us a shout when you are ready for something else and someone will point you in the right direction. Happy knitting.
Was at the fishery yesterday as DS was taking part in a competition in aid of ABF the soldiers charity, had a nice day away from the house and got a fair bit of knitting and crochet done too. I was going to stay at home but he was adamant that I should go along for a change of scene. Not a bad lad.
Must go and see what I have for the update, haven't done it for a few weeks now. Back later.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Thank you both for your suggestions and welcome. I will try and get started this afternoon as it looks like a good day for staying indoors knitting!
I'll let you know how I get on. My glass is half full :beer:0 -
Welcome to you SparkyG......I think any day is good for staying indoors knitting, crocheting or sewing. As soon as your ready for further knitting let us know we can direct you to all sorts of wonderful places where you can spend hours trying to make your mind up what to do next. At least that's what happens with me.
Having a peaceful Sunday, we have visitors for dinner tonight but everything is ready and just needs sticking into the oven, so I have the afternoon free to finish off my little reindeer hat. Have a wonderful day folks, I hope it isn't to wet and windy where you are, the storm ran through here overnight and the sun has now come out, so I shall go and pick up the things that flew around the garden.

Well we are Ok. We seem to have missed hurricane Bertha. Just strong winds. We are having SILS dog tomorrow for 2 weeks whilst they are away. So that will keep us busy. He is only a Scottie dog so not mad walking.
Been busy with fabric baskets ... All pics on my blog. Flikr will still not let me in!!!!
Lots of love to all those not posting just nowxxxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi everyone, and hi and welcome to you, SparkyG! I see the lovely ladies on here have already found you some patterns.
Well, I think Hurricane Bertha has paid us a fleeting visit; I hope no one in the UK has suffered any damage from it. We've had lots of cloud and rain and I think this has been the worst August since we moved here. I just hope it improves when DS1 and his family are here next week!
Elaine - that sounds like a good day out!
Wow, Chalky, your DH is brave. I hate cooking for experts! Yes, I can't wait for DS1 and DDL1 to arrive because they are bringing DGS14 and DGD11 with them! I've just heard that there is a kangaroo park near here where you can get up close and personal with the kangaroos, so we are hoping we can take them there! Friends went yesterday and said it was brilliant.
Well, I am busy wrapping up birthday presents for DGD2 which I will post to make sure she gets them for the 18th. It's also DS1's birthday in September (same day as mine!) and we have bought him a folding camping chair, so we are trying to think how to disguise it from him, because he will have to take it back with him. It will make a huge and heavy present, but he will be under orders not to open it until THE day!
I have made up a little parcel of preemie hats and booties that DDL1 will be able to post to the local maternity hospital when they get back home. I still have loads of British postage stamps so it will be a good way to use them up!
I now have to decide what to make next. I am going to start something for my mum for her birthday next month, but I'm not sure what, and I think I will make a few more preemie hats, because they are quick and easy.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Thanks for the welcome everyone:). I'm halfway through my first attempt at a baby hat, but it's coming up a bit big. More for a full term baby, or I may just give it to my granddaughter for her teddy :rotfl:
My confidence and speed is coming back though, so I'm sure I'll be able to improve on future attempts.
Looking forward to "meeting" you all, and having lots of fun with my new hobby.
Best wishes to all,
SparkyG:beer: My glass is half full :beer:0 -
Doesn't matter if it's a bit big, newborns need hats as well. That's the beauty of knitting for charity, everything will fit someone, somewhere.
Keep practicing and enjoy what you are doing, that is the main thing.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Just a quick pop in to say hello
Mom has not being doing well over the last few days, she just wont eat except for her breakfast porridge, we take things in we know she is fond of but no go I'm afraid, and if she does have a few bites it doesn't stay down...
the nurse heated some rice pud up for her today she had just 2 spoonfuls and that was it no more...
she was in so much pain last week so no physio they took her for 'another' xray to see if all was ok and it is... she is on liquid morphine (orimorph? I think its called) and some other pills so she has all the problems that come with taking meds!!! IYKWIM
I just don't know what to do
I will be back in a few days to read back, when edna has gone ...I don't like her at all...hope she slings her hook PDQ !!!
sending love to you all Anne xx0 -
Oh, Pippa, I really feel for you; it must be such a worry. I am sending lots of hugs to you and to your dear mum, and hoping that she can soon eat something substantial, which will help build her up.
