I know I am probably being stupid, but can anyone see where it says which charity they are fund raising for?

    http://shop.womansweekly.com/uk/ww-campaign

    Regards to all :)
  • ANAKAT - not a mention of any specific charity at all which is a bit of a nuisance - just selling them to donate to charity (as well as try for the world record)- like you I would have preferred to know just where the funds would be going.........perhaps an email off to them will get the answer.

:rotfl:I thought I'll do that, send a quick email :rotfl:No they want home name and address and phone number. as well as email addy.
I don't mind junk email, easily dealt with, but not giving them the chance to increase the amount of junk mail and phone calls.
So I will not be adding to their record breaking atempt, which is a shame because it might have been a charity I could have supported :(
  • Hi all

It's almost time for our summer jaunt down to the Dorset/Devon coast, and we're taking Jemima (the new to us caravan) to our favourite campsite on the Dorset/Somerset/Devon border...just outside Axminster.

It would be lovely if there was someone near(ish) that fancied a meet up and a cup of tea --- I can travel to you, meet somewhere middleish or whatever.

    Just let me know -

    Thanks in advance,

    Dawn xx
    :hello:
  • ooooo have a lovely holliers Dawn - think Chalky is in that sort of area (well south ish).
Family are still here and we are nearly worn out with all the rushing around but it is fun too and our weather has been wonderful - spectacular lightening storm the other night which we all treated as a fireworks display - ha ha
loads of love and cuddles to you all (not a lot of craftyness getting done I hasten to add - but I will get to it eventually)

Just a quick hello from me I hope you are all well and enjoying this beautiful weather...

Mom has been moved twice in the last few days and seems a little subdued they kept her in bed all day on Sunday as they needed to set a drip up for fluids, she is very de-hydrated and isn't eating much at all, they don't seem worried but I am,she always had such a very good appetite, it could all be a reaction from the fall, the operation and just the general upheaval.
She does not like being in a ward even though there are only 6 beds, must say she did seem better in a room on her own she got some sleep and was eating then as well but thats just how it works.
Other than when she had us, she has only spent one night in hospital before so it is all very strange for her.

mrs-m - good news that your DMIL is home and settling down
Dawn - have a wonderful holiday down south in your carry van
jean - sounds like you are having a busy but happy time...enjoy x
    chalky - :rotfl:'Williamised' love it x
kathy - hope all is well in your neck of the woods :)
anakat - I couldn't find any mention of a charity either how odd, they could lose a lot of contributors I would think
dibuzz - glad the hand is feeling a little better, nahh don't need shooting we would miss you ;)

all for now will pop back in as and when love to all

    Hello chums,
Like the rest of you I was a bit concerned that `charity ` could be anything in the Woman`s Weekly record breaking attempt, and also concerned about providing so much personal details, so sent an email expressing this and saying that my contribution would depend on the answers I got to my queries, and got this reply.

Hope it clears things up for you.

    Dear Elaine

    Thank you for your email

We were only able to confirm the charity last week and the magazine/s promoting our challenge had already gone to print – it is The Alzheimer’s Society. We were going to work with another charity, however they wanted to dictate exactly what readers could knit and we like to keep the options open.

We ask for a full name and address as when we apply for the world record, we submit the full details of ALL the contributors, and this works in a favour when the adjudication takes place. Should you only wish to supply your name and town so we can include that, then that is fine. We also include contributor’s names and town on the poster we create to take around the country and put these details on the website – as we did when we got the world record for the longest line of knitted bunting.

I hope these do answer your questions and look forward to receiving the makes, if you feel you would still like to contribute to the record attempt.

    Kind regards

    Mary
