Sorry I've been AWOL, I feel a bit of a fraud because I can't knit or crochet at all with my hand. I did go to the monthly meeting this morning though, felt guilty that I had nothing to take but sometimes there are only 2 of us there so would have felt worse if someone was sat on their own.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

dibuzz - never ever feel guilty - as you say if some poor soul had been sitting on their own some you would have felt terrible. Hope the hand mends then you can get back to the craftyness.

I am just sitting here with a coffee as my niece and two little ones are coming for lunch.
pippa oh how I hate the dentist. I hope that clears up really quickly. Medicinal brandy has got to be good.
pssooh what a shame. What a lovely Mum you are. But, when the worst things have happened to you cars don't seem so important. I hope the insurance comes good in the end.

Well. I am flitting like a crazy butterfly around my crafting just now. Last night I decided to try and make a patchwork pouch. Should have looked at order of compilation before starting. I now have a lovely pouch but should have put the Zip in first.. Duh. Need to think of a way of closing it.
Right must get on.. Love to all.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
GRASS is DONE - and quite frankly so am I - it's far too hot to be doing that sort of workout. Won't need to go near it again till the end of next week!

Good morning my lovelies.
We missed the worst of the storms. But the garden has had a lovely drink. The beans are in flower. The lettuces are doing really well and the apples are plumping up on the tree.
Well, we had a lovely lunch with my niece and her two littlies. She lives in Haroenden so don't see her that often. They were thrilled with the simplest pudding. I gave them both a little ramekin bowl. They broke balk a bar if chocolate in it. Melted it in the microwave and dipped strawberries and cherries in the choc. Heaven .
I started to crochet some cotton dishcloths last night. WIP number 5 million at the moment!!! But I thought they would make some nice presents to add to the lavender sachets. Then think of some other ideas like home made body scrubs,a crochet covered coat hanger, hand decorated hand towel to add to a pampering pack for the C ****** word. Any other ideas would be gratefully received.
I can see it all tucked up in a nice basket with cellophane round.
Right little family come home tomorrow so of course a shopping trip is on the cards today.
I am going to look for some soft cotton yarn and a home made bar of soap.
Lots of love to one and all xxxxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Just popped in to say I may not be around much for the next few days/weeks...mom had a fall in the early hours of this morning and broke her hip, she is now in the Queen Elizabeth hospital,
She was scheduled for theatre at 11am today but after waiting for hours it was cancelled as an emergency came in so it will now be done tomorrow.
I feel so sad seeing her in that hospital bed so small and frail covered in bruises and in such pain she was gripping the sides of the bed, they wouldn't give her any more morphine because they expected her to go down to theatre, but after it was cancelled they gave her some, she hadn't had a drink since 2:00 am so they gave her a cup of tea ...and an hour later...they called for her to go down, out of the question then though.
She is so confused and disorientated I could weep for her it's not like my mom at all
I must away now I have more phone calls to make
have a lovely weekend everyone and I hope the weather is kind to you
Love Anne x
chalky I know its a big ask;) but please give little scrumptious a big squiggy hug from me xxx0 -
Oh Anne, sending lots of loving thoughts for you and your mom, they will get it set sooner rather than later and then she will be on the mend and feeling more like herself.
This is the last night with DS - he asked for Scottish steak pie and mash, peas and carrots and gravy for his dinner - well off course I did it - even tho we are all melting here!
He is off at silly o'clock tomorrow morning and I shall miss him till his next visit in December...........lots of cleaning to catch up with so that will distract me.
Wonderful William will be hugged to bits tomorrow but fit in a couple just for me please too.

Hello one and all... Lots of the gentlest thoughts tucked in.
pippai am so sorry to read of this and send love from us both. I know you will worry until Mum has had her op and on the mend. Please know all your sisters here will be thinking of you so much xxx
jeanthat dinner sounds gorgeous... Even though it's hot. I hope all the distractions work. I will be following in your footsteps soon. But until them I will make the most of every squishy cuddle I can have.
Well we have had a swish around this morning. Andy is engrossed in the gold. We have DSIL coming for lunch. Home made pizza and salad as it's hot here. I use pesto as a base instead of tomato pur!e . It's lovely.
The little family arrive back at Exeter at 7.00 this evening so a lasagne is all made .and a cheesecake too.
I am really enjoying making washcloths and after looking at soaps in our local department store at up to £6 each!!! I went to the body shop and found gorgeous ones on offer so I am tucking one in each little washcloth.
