Roamin- you're not the only one with a holiday.
Today is a local holiday here too. Traditionally this would have been the start of Trades Fortnight, when many businesses would have closed and Aberdeen folk were on holiday.
DS is off this week so might get him to do some diy stuff, in between sleeping, fishing, going to the pub.
Off to dispose of some more weeds out the front. Nearly done.
Then have to start on the back...........
Alternating between crochet squares and knitting bodywarmers, still trying to use up all the ball of yarn before starting on a different one, so that I don't end up with a bag of little bits.
Have a great day.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

on about traditional holidays i can remember when i first started work and leicester used to shut down for july fortnight and basically decamp to the seaside (usually skeggy as that was nearest) LOL can you imagine that now, oh and 1/2 day closing on wednesdays and all shops shut on sundays!!! oh how id love to put the genie back in the bottle. life seemed much less rushed then. we shopped less and had more family time but still never ran out of things.SPC~12 ot 124

well most of the shops (including supermarkets) are still closed for lunch 12 ish to 2 ish and trying to find shops open on a Sunday is a nightmare - bakers yes, butcher even yes....normal shop NOPE. It's a pain when you head out to the nearest town for some shopping only to find that the lights are flicking - the music is turned off and the cashier has WALKED off from the till at closing time... queue left with baskets of stuff and told to come back after lunch!! It did take me ages to get used to that one - its getting better but you can't predict which shops will remain open all day!The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

Please picture me in the chair still in my nightie and dressing gown. Coffee in hand and thinking of you all.
Our little family gave gone away for one week to our little Spanish house... Hot,hot ,hot. DDIL and son have taken ddil's brother and his wife.
So the washing is done, ironing ironed, mayhem picked up a bit and I want to catch up with you all.
I have read back, caught up and inwardly digested. Can I please send a group hug to all as there sounds a LOT going on.
If you want to see how much Sweet William has grown please have a peep on my blog. Happy, happy pictures from a happy, happy Grandma. I am NOT thinking ahead, just enjoying every minute. They come back next Sunday and are them with us for 11 days. Lots planned including a Gruffalo hunt in the nearby forest. But to be honest his favourite is pooling about in the garden. Watering the top of the list. Because they live in a third floor apartment the novelty of being able to just go out in the garden is making him a very happy boy. He is a bit hobbly but it is so wonderful to see him kicking a ball and running etc.
I have managed some quiet hooking ... A good antidote to the Footie. I am making a sewing machine cover for the friend who helped me with the quilt.
Right I must get on .. A walk to the next village this afternoon with DSIL and a cuppa at the Teapot Club. I wish you could all come sisters!
Lastly loving the little group getting together on Facebook.... Led by Bonnie Jean!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
I am only back on F/b because you posted about Sweet William and Elaine sent me a link I couldn't get open!!
I haven't manage to get onto LH for about 7 months now and I really do miss them all. I left FB about 4 years ago and its all so different - I will get back into it tho' when I eventually have some proper time to study what's occurring. Currently enjoying being the Mammie - doing the dinners, baking the favourites, stealing a big squashing cuddle every now and again - I even put up with non stop bikes on the telly (what a sacrifice), I lay in bed in the pj's waiting on DS bringing up a coffee for me and a chat.......loving every minute of the precious time we spend together. Tomorrow I shall show him how the lawnmowers work - he can assist. ha ha he has astro turf on his balcony so that will be an experience! Off to find that words game you were on about a week or so ago - look out for me in cyber space sisters

Chalky, had already checked out your blog as I have been waiting to see pics. I love seeing the little man pottering and giving free cuddles, he is so huggable. Dgs helped me in the garden on Saturday and loves watering the plants too. His favourite thing though is peeping through the raspberry canes to find a juicy one.
Psso hope you have managed to sleep a bit and are doing ok x
Just off to make lots of cardboard dice as table decorations for Ds's blessing. Have a wreath to make then we are all done!
I am on Fb can I join you all on there?Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Chalky - drowning the plants must be a favourite pastime for little boys.I've got a wee fella who does that too. William looks really happy to be spending his holidays with you and Sporty grandad. Enjoy the peace while they are away and get your batteries recharged for the next time.
Ginnyknit - sleep when I can, crochet / read when I can't.
Will we be able to find you easily on fb ? I was shocked to discover how many ladies share my name. Doesn't help when I don't actually have a photo on - keep telling my family I'm incognito !!
Send me a pm if you like.
Had planned on garden activities but it's a bit showery, so am inside finishing off a bodywarmer.
Think I might just go and put the kettle on. Don't want it to feel neglected.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Haha, I sent her a pm as well. Think I found the right one, just need confirmation.
Even if I had a photie on no one would recognise me, unless we had met in real life.
