    Blimming insomnia here.
    jeanGame on!

Google has taken to throwing me out again. I have to enter my password etc every time I want to make a comment on every blog. So annoying.

Haha can't you hear my irritation at being awake in the wee hours. I gave gad a cup of tea got inspired to make dome pincushions and had a few rounds of words with friends with people across the pond.

Tomorrow we have a few appointments and I need some navy wool which means a trip to the best shop in town. Oh that will be so hard to enjoy!

Little family are having a lovely time but are being bothered by flies. They are not around when we are there. Has anyone got any ideas to deter them. It's spoiling their outside time.

I will go and google it now... Another distraction.

Ok... Well I will go into a deep sleep when the alarm is cringing I expect but special love to anyone else watching the dawn start to creep in x

finally got the info we needed last night, mil IS still having her op tomorrow so she IS being transfered to the other hospital today, after i spoke to the oncology nurse things started moving up a gear the surgeon contacted the heart wards shes on and ordered a couple of tests to ensure she was fit and well enough to have the surgery and they have come back ok. Obviously its a big op and has risks and concerns attached but once shes been told not having it wasnt an option and then getting signals that it may be delayed she was starting to panic.
thank you all for your good wishes and kind thoughts for her.

think im going to catch up on some stuff here today as ive been rushing roun feeling like im doing all sorts and achieving nothing.

hugs to all who need them.

  • Sending continued positive vibes, good wishes and loads of squishy cuddles Mrs Moneypenny, keep busy in the meantime and it will distract you from that bigger picture.

Equally interesting day here - weeding the patio :o weedkilled it last week as it hasnt been cleared for a couple of years and looked like a weedy lawn. I dont like weedkiller but needs must and I did it when Dgs left here so it would be safe when he came back. Now the laborious process of scraping up the weeds and revealing the crazy paving. All this for Oh's 60th next month - it will be worth it. Have grown some creeping herby stuff and cannot for the life of me remember what it is - I want to say Thyme - does that sound right? -which should grow in the gaps and resolve the problem of weeds.

Nearly finished 2 Mrs Twins blankets tonight, amazing how they suddenly come together. I have a 400gm ball of pale pink aran that I got cheap from Hobbycraft and dont know what to do with it, maybe a baby blanket if I can find some pure white Aran to add to it.

Hugs to all especially MrsMP xx

HI everyone; my, it's been busy on here, and I haven't had chance to catch up properly.

Mrs Moneypenny - hugs to you and your MIL.

Chalky - sounds like you are really enjoying having William around!

We've been really busy here. We have visitors coming at the weekend, and we've planned a big party, so I am knee deep in meal planning, and organising sleeping arrangements, plus helping DH put the finishing touches to the utility room. I'm looking forward to the visitors and the party but I am also looking forward to the rest afterwards!

We went to an early Bastille 'do' on Friday night which was absolutely brilliant, in a field in the countryside with a wood-shavings-loo (for the ladies, the men just watered their tyres!), a few big tents, and a disco which didn't get going for ages but, when it did, we danced for hours to a mixture of English and French music, and a bit of country and western, too. We met up with loads of people we knew and really enjoyed ourselves. It was one of the best nights out we've had here. We had fireworks, too, which were really good. The following day we were exhausted and aching from all the dancing, but that shows how good a time it was.

I've done very little woolly stuff but will try and do a bit when I can. I did sit in the sun yesterday and catch up on some long overdue mending, which made me feel very virtuous. I had to repair some cushion covers, so it made me get on with the other bits that needed mending.

The other day I ordered some vacuum storage bags from Amazon; I wanted to store some duvets that were taking up so much room. Well, the bags are brilliant; I could hardly believe how much even the biggest duvet shrunk down to, so I got a bit carried away and stored some other bits, too, namely curtains that I don't need here because we have shutters, but will need once we are back in the UK. I turned big bulky piles of things into manageable packages that went straight into a blanket box, and freed up some other spaces that I can use for storing wool and fabrics. I shall order some more because I think they are such a good way to store things.

We had a few really dull days this week but yesterday it really brightened up and today is lovely, too. We are hoping it lasts so that we can have a BBQ over the weekend.

Jean - I can't get on to LH and haven't been able to for ages. I can read but can't log in to post.

Anyway, off to put the kettle on then get the washing on the line.

Will try and do the update a bit later on today.

haven't done much charity knitting last couple weeks, just a pile of IS hats, to use the small balls that get left at the end of projects.
going to blackpool for a knitting holiday on Monday, but I should be around to post before then.
other news, I've starting seeing someone, who I've known for a few years, and have dated him in the past. talked thru past issues, and put past behind us, and ready to start again.

  • Here I am doddling in late again, its lovely being busy with family and visitors but they do take up valuable crafty and pooter time. I still haven't finished the grass cutting either, so I popped in for a cold drink and back out and at it.
Mrs Moneypenny - take a break away with your DH - it will refresh you for what may lie ahead.
Sharon - enjoy Blackpool - I hope the weather stays good for you also great news about the 'someone' on your horizon fingers crossed it all goes well. OK off out to get the rest of the grass cut...........I will try and pop back in a bit later. Love and cuddles to you all.
