F1, sorry the hospital are messing your OH around, my mum went in 3 times for her gall bladder out then got sent home as three weren't enough beds.
2 of my kids are at the pub watching the match so probably won't care about the result by now.
I'm ashamed to say I've only made 5 baby hats in the last month and I did them all this week.
I did manage to go to the knitting group meeting this morning though which I wasn't sure I could do. Sometimes I get there and just turn round and come home and I knew if I didn't take anything I'd be more likely to do that.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Dibuzz good to hear you went knitting group and 5 hats is great - even if it was one hat it all helps
this week I've done 1 adult hat and one half of fingerless gloves for 2 year old they are very small so it should be me on the naughty mat ..... ! :rotfl::rotfl:

I am just as upset as your dear Son F1 - because instead of football/tennis on the telly everyone will be moaning.........also its nearly time for the bloomin bikes again - still mustn't grumble eh.
DIBUZZ - Don't ever be ashamed you have knitted 5 baby hats THAT IS FIVE WARM BABY HEADS - regardless of how long/quick/ etc you did them. The idea is that it doesn't take over your life and you enjoy doing it - at least that's they way I look at it. It's also extremely relaxing for me to craft.
My input lately - 10 butterflies and one hedgie but that just might change if the weather stays hot - I will be indoors with the fans on. Off to cut the wet grass
then I can do a bit of relaxing after another shower.
Ye all have a terrific day - full of wonderful things

F1 - what a nightmare for you all. It must be really upsetting and worrying.
Dibuzz - five hats is better than no hats. Even one hat makes a difference to someone in need.
Chalky - hope William continues to do well.
Elaine - hope you are recovering well and, most importantly, not trying to do too much.
Jean - how's your ankle. I hope that you, too, are taking it easy.
Well, the match was disappointing but I think England did try once they got going. They always seem to start off as if they are just having a kickaround in the local park, no matter how important the match. My BIL and his family in the south of France almost didn't get to see any of it. He phoned to say that his satellite had stopped working and he couldn't get an engineer out until Saturday, and did I know of another way he could watch it, maybe online? We have used Filmon in the past but, of course, ITV would not allow it to broadcast the match. I half joked that I could Skype him and put my laptop in front of my TV, and perhaps he could watch it that way. Well, would you believe, it worked! He was able to watch the whole match with just a little noise interference now and again, and he and his son were delighted.
I sussed out the timer on my new oven but it seems so fiddly and illogical that I am using my plastic chicken timer instead. I made cakes yesterday, along with Chalky's famous Ikea biscuits; with those, I cut the sugar down by a third (the recipe says 300gms sugar which seems a lot) and no one has noticed, and it didn't make any difference to the mixture. Also, I have been trying to find a less messy way of making the individual biscuits - I was rolling them into little balls but my hands ended up covered in mixture, so I Googled and found that it's easier to do with wet hands, but that was still a bit messy, so yesterday I tried using a wet teaspoon in one hand and just pressing and shaping the mixture with the other hand, and it worked really well. My new oven worked perfectly, too.
I'm working on Innocent Smoothie hats and quite enjoying how quick they are to do. I've done some plain ones but want to vary them a bit, too.
Anyway, it's really hot outside today. I sat outside for fifteen minutes but it was too hot, really. I shall go and ice the cakes I made yesterday, and I have some drawers and cupboards to turn out, so I will make myself do that, too.
Have a good day, everyone.

Morning all.
Been out for my first trundle round the block, cloudy but fairly warm with a wee breeze, so quite pleasant. Would be better / easier if the leg wasn't so uncomfortable but hey ho it will just take time.
Nurse suggested smoothing in Vaseline to see if that eases it. Will give it a try.
Still doing the border on the blanket but also doing a bit of knitting.
Oops sorry gotta go, being shouted at, back later.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Morning all xx
Roamin hope you got the grass cut x
Kathy - blooming ovens ! I hate getting used to new oven ! Our microwave was just the same went up in big increments so had to keep an eye on seconds !
As for innocent hats I normally do plain ones I find the other wonderful patterns too fiddly ! But I have started doing the basic pattern but on every 4th row which should be a purl I knit instead (do they call that reverse stocking?) which means you get three ridges over the hat - looks a bit different xx
Psso - take it easy but lovely to hear you have had a little walk bet the sun felt lovely - knowing what I'm like if you do have to be couped up when you first go out it can be a shock to the senses iykwim! - take care xx
Anyway feel a bit calmer today appt confirmed for 10th July for hubby and he has to stay in now can't say for how long but let's not dwell
I've finished a pair of chikd wristwarmers and am now attacking a patterned square in between washing duties xx
Have a lovely day xxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Ankle is officially ALL BETTER - I walked miles this morning with the push-me-pull-you lawnmower (don't panic its petrol driven)- I broke the cutter belt on the ride on yesterday and I really did want to get the orchard cut as well as the back garden, the exercise did me good as I have been sitting knitting all day ! Having a small white whine to relax - I keep thinking this is Saturday - so who stole the day this week and what day was it??????
dibuzz hope you have found your mojo now with the flowers and leaves
Moiliere how about the melon baller for the biscuits - ok I am showing off now - doesn't every home have one in the drawer. I would have suggested the ice cream scoop but it might make the biscuits too big! ha ha
f1 that date will come around really quickly - and you need not worry about hotel hospital deal - he will be in and out before you know it - don't sweat that one till its on your doorstep.
PSSO are you still on the anti-bioticals for the leg? Is it getting any better at healing? If not get back to the quack.
GINNY did you get that calm, serene space yesterday? I do hope so.
off for something out of the freezer for my tea........bound to be healthy then!
