Chalky - yes, the steam is rising! I've just discovered that the new oven's timer goes up and down in increments of 10 minutes at a time! I can't set it for anything in between, say, fifteen minutes, twenty five, and so on. I can hardly believe it in the land of the 'finest cuisine in the world'! Those Ikea biscuits which did so well in eight minutes in my old oven will now be at the mercy of my very old but trusty little chicken timer from now on! Seriously, though, I am a bit annoyed because it just seems so ridiculous!

Rant over - I think we are having beans on toast for dinner tonight!

Your quilt is fantastic, by the way. William will simply love it - you may have to make him another one to take home with him!

Love it Kathy................ only in France eh! I have never even attempted to try and use half the stuff on my oven and I do use the wind up frog for timing and wander round the house and garden with it when there is something being baked! Modern technology be damned.

  • enjoy the early night ginnyknit - and off course the book. Glad to hear that your veggies are coming along nicely, I am scoffing DH's strawberries - he hasn't a clue whether they are growing or dead - he he! The birdie bath has had three different spots in the back garden so I will now sleep on it and probably move it into the front courtyard tomorrow for a go - keeps him on his toes. Butterflies are on the gow and I am hunting out some 4ply as well so will get a few wee ones. Ankle all sorted no support or bandage now I just have to remind myself not to do heavy digging I will be fine - intend Breton dancing tomorrow so it had better hold up.

JEAN, just dougald Breton dancing and it looked like a cross between strip the willow/ gay Gordon's / eightsome reel. All good Scotty dances.

Mrs moneypenny, how did your mil get on today?

Had the cardiac assessment today and start the actual exercise classes next week, Wednesday and Friday. The girls take into account any problems you have when planning your exercise regime so you build up gradually. They were a bit shocked at the state of my leg.......they should have seen it 3 weeks ago, so they were a wee bit concerned in case exercise would open it up. Will have to see.

Have finished 2 bodywarmers, 1original Angel Claire and the slightly bigger one. Will try to post pic later.
    What next.......hmm I wonder.

Hope you all have a good evening.

Mrs Moneypenny - so glad the scan went OK, and fingers crossed for the next appointments.

Not had much spare time today because we've been out visiting friends but I am really trying to have a free at-home day tomorrow so will call in then.

It's been baking hot today and it looks like we are in for a warm night, too.

Hope you have all had a good day.

Psso hope you are making good progress xx

Ginnyknit how are you and oh xx

Chalky - hoping William continues to make good progress was lovely to read that he gas been doing lots of swimming xx must pop over to blog and see the quiet xxx

If I have missed anyone sending a warm hug your way xxx

Well what a strange few weeks firstly I had laryngitis never had that before ! Ds gas really struggled with hay fever seems to be worse this year and I have snoring in stereo at night due to heavily blocked nose in his room and doh's ongoing polyp issues the otherside of me!!! Needless to say not much sleep

Which then leads me to doh's operation which was cancelled on Tuesday as he sat gowned up just ready to go to theatre - anaesthetist refused to do surgery as it was not in main theatre !!!!!!! Hubby needs main theatre due to cardiac issue - three weeks ago the hospital said they had overlooked booking main theatre but that the ent consultant thought oh would be ok in day surgery ...... Needless to say anaesthetist over ruled that decision on the day!!
We now have new date fir a couple of weeks couldn't do it sooner as consultant off now this means another three lots of tablets to take before operation again and cancelling his birthday trip to a concert - which the group don't often play - needless to say we are not happy

So that's us never a dull moment :D

I really hope everyone ok :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I've floundered a bit with the knitting of late nothing new there - so have settled on knitting hats hats and more hats - everyone needs hats oh and wristwarmers and squares - I will maybe do some other odds and ends but mainly concentrate on hats xx

Well hubby is late from work so better go and locate him
    Love j xxx

Hi F1, glad to hear from you, I worry you know :D Bloomin hospitals, the same thing happened to me a few years ago but only a minor op luckily. Im sure your Hubby is frustrated and wishing it was done with.

Mrs MP glad all the tests went well for your Mil, hope the results are good.

Lovely quiet day as Dd's OH took hubby fishing for the day - well Oh would be sleeping in his little tent I imagine :rotfl: but it means he will sleep tonight. I wandered round tesco, made myself a nice lunch and pootled round the house.

    Hugs to all xx

F1 - The Mission to Seafarers (freepost address) are always grateful for hats, scarves, gloves etc.

Mrs Moneypenny glad to hear that the mri scan went fine, keep positive and take each appointment as it comes

PSSO - you got that dancing in one, good job I like dancing - only there are no breaks for drinks or sit downs you just either join in or leave as and when and they go on all night long! DH does NOT partake even if he is full of booze!

Been boiling here today and I was cutting the grass - if I try to get it done in the morning before the sun hits it all its too wet, if I wait for the sun to hit the grass its then far too hot or its lunchtime - no work between 12-2pm punishable by death I hear! Its now just about bearable to go and do some more but I am blowed if I am starting that lark.
Loads of love to you all
