Sounds interesting Psso orange and green. I have just finished a sage green and dusty peach and its has come out lovely. I keep buying the peach wool as I love the shade.
Thank you Mrs Mp look forward to a good read. Royl mail is terrible now, we could lose another post office soon, goodness knows how people will manage. Its already £2.80 for me to get there and a walk, if it goes it will be £4.80 and waste of an hour minimum. Hope they unbung the post box soon for you all.
Busy making things for Ds's marriage blessing this week so wont be hooking much. The blessing is in September but as days keep getting stolen I want it done. I could have sworn it was Tuesday yesterday and suddenly its Saturday  how did that happen! Have done the invites, now we are on decorations. Am making a wreath with maps playing cards and poker chips and then dice out of card. Of course there will be playing card bunting tooClearing the junk to travel light

Been playing hooky! Not the crochet type for a change.
Andy's sister moved into our village a month ago and her husband works in the USA for a lot of the time. It transpired she had never been to Cornwall. Well as it is one of my favourite places in the whole wide world that had to be addressed ASAP . And as the weather was glorious and a wonderful Nirsery Murse I used to work with has a mobile home we set off. The sun blazed, the sea was turquoise , the pasties and saffron cake delicous and we all had a lovely time.
Oh! And I got her knitting again. Six inch squares for Mrs Twins. What a result.
So, I am all behind AGAIN. But I have read through and there is some poignant news, some sad mews, some poorly news and some happy news. Can I send the gentlest squishiest hug to you all as I would hate to miss anyone out by trying to remember everyone.
Well it's football fest here... Still all my crafting will keep me sane. I have a long appointment with the hand sewing of the binding on William's quilt. I can hardly bear to move it off the bed! I was awake in the night last night writing poems for a bed time story book for him.
Ed,Fred,Ned and Ted are the happy monsters that live on William's bed.
Ed wears red and can stand on his head.
But he always wobbles and falls on his head.
Fred snores loudly when he is in bed
Stop it shouts Ed,Ted and Ned.
Ted is sleepy and sleeps so well.
He never even hears the alarm bell.
That leaves Ned who stays awake.
And looks after William until daybreak.
Well that's it so far but would be very glad of any suggestions for further verses. I am going to take pictures of Ed,Fred,Ned and Ted and write the verses on the opposite pages.
Right I must get in as I have a new project underway just now. Another obsession in the offing!

What will you do with that fabric twine chalky ? Knit it?
Glad you enjoyed your Cornish days. Your sil will definitely be aware of the temperature differences between up here and down there.
Well, sadly no trout for tea today. Little J enjoyed himself though, we were there for about 3 hours, I thought he would get fed up especially when the blooming fish kept popping up but not nibbling his bait. Wants to know when uncle S is taking him back again.
DD took me into the nearby town to the wool shop. Was looking for inspiration, something to grab my interest. Must be too picky, didn't see anything exciting and everything was quite expensive, can get similar online cheaper.
Never mind, I did buy some turquoise yarn and a ball of random blue/cream yarn. Not sure what it'll be used for yet, baby things maybe.
Back to the green and orange grannies tonight though. Coming along well.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Well I had an early night ... Football would never keep me awake.
All well here I conquered the fabric twine and loved using it for the birthday parcels this month.
Pictures on my blog.
Well DOH has had a lovely Fathers Day. A phone call from the youngest daughter in Parma. Card from son in Dubai and we are off to a barbecue at our oldest daughters in a minute so all good.

It is so lovely to see him enjoying being busy again and I think my daughter in law deserves a medal with all she has had to cope with.
Well I am starting the long hand sewing bit of the quilt tonight if I do not have too many vino collapso's.
Hope Jean your ankle is much better.

Hi everyone. I hope you are all waking up to sunshine this morning. It's really warm here already but at least there's a bit of a breeze.
Jean- how is that ankle doing? That blanket is lovely; so neat.
Chalky - hope William is going from strength to strength.
Elaine - hope you are doing well.
Well, we had a busy weekend with the time, as usual, just whizzing past. We have been sorting out the kitchen to replace a horrid horrid electric hob with a gas one. There is no mains gas here, so we will have to use bottled gas so I have had to empty a kitchen cupboard for the bottle. Reorganising cupboards that are groaning under the weight of all the food (teabags, cornflour, and so on) that we bought back from the UK was a bit of a challenge, but I managed it. Hopefully, the new hob goes in today, and I can't wait. I hate cooking on electric and have put up with it for the last five years. Besides finding it so much easier to cook with, it means we will now have an alternative source to cook with when we have power cuts, which happens all too often.
I've had good news from my sister that at last Mum has been persuaded to let her take her out in a lightweight wheelchair, and it has made such a difference to them both. Now they can go for longer walks along the prom and to the local park and shops, and Mum won't get so tired. She is also using the nebuliser that she had resisted for so long, so her quality of life is much improved, and my sister is less anxious. All in all, a great result.
Woolly-wise, I am making squares for blankets with my new stash and Innocent Smoothie hats with oddments from my old stash. I have actually found a shop locally that sells a small selection of knitting wool; it seems to be a ply between DK and 4-ply so I'm sure it will do for blankets, hats, and so on. The colours are fairly limited and you have to buy the balls in packs, not separately, but it is still a very good find for me. DH could hardly believe how excited I was to find it! Men just don't understand, do they?
I shall do the update a bit later on and will pop back in. Have a great day, everyone.

Morning all, sun is shining and first trip round the block completed. Must have been walking slightly faster today as was a bit puffed when I got back.
Roamin, your blanket is smashing. What's next on the baby list ?
Kathy, good news that mum has agreed to the wheelchair and nebuliser. She'll be able to go further afield now and easier for your sister too I imagine.
Halfway round the border of the blanket and have cast on the stitches for a larger version of the Angel Claire bodywarmer. Can't remember who posted it on LH, it was quite a while ago, and someone sized it up a bit to fit slightly bigger babies. I like doing them as they are nice and quick and no sewing.
Bad news here is we have at least one moosie in DD's bedroom, spotted by her and DS the other night. Not using the 'traditional' style of trap as it might be related to this one.

Good morning one and all.... Early start for us this morning as had hygienist ( much hated) appointment and eye test all before ten 'clock!
jeanthat blanket is smashing.
Kathygreat news of Mum. So glad you are getting your hob and the woolly find will help so much. The European yarn is a strange thickness I have found.
pssoso good you are getting a bit puffed in the nicest possible way of course x your makes sound great. My Dd1 has little visitors too.
Yesterday Doh had such a lovely time with a phone call from DD1 who is in Palma just about to start the summer Mediterranean trip with partner on board ship so she is mega happy. And also just been given a 12% pay rise!!
Then our son sent him a lovely Moonpig card and we were invited to Dd1's for a barbecue and her partner never minds Andy becoming the barbecue cook which he loves.
So all good. And William has been back for his X-ray check thus morning. There is a half centimetre difference in his leg length and a slifpght outward twist but the consultant is sure this will right itself in time. He is pleased with his progress so that's the main thing.
Well I am starting the long hand sewing stint this evening. Very tempted to whizz around with invisible thread but really should do it by and.
Love to you all. My lovely friends. I think of you all often xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -

Just bought two last week - our previous one melted but we had used it for over 7 years. Not cheap but we know that this one really works! Hay making this week - so there are wee blighters all over the place - do we ever think to keep the door shut?? NAH - we also have the snap and take off the head type with mars bar slice on them ITS A WAR ZONE.
OK decided to do a couple of hedgies before I got stuck into butterflies so will finish off the dreadful yarn (you wait on the photies) then get to the butterflies.
NEXT baby project is the crochet car seat cover - got plenty of time for that - they don't have the seat yet (nor the baby for that matter). Might have a trial on the knitting machine for that little number, or it will be the basketweave crochet - I rather liked doing that pattern.
Loads of love and cuddles to you all - keep up that walk-around-the-block - you will be running it in a couple of weeks time Elaine. The Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

Afternoon one and all a beautiful day here again hope it's good where you are
jean - Lovely blanket I like the pattern, hows your ankle now? I had a go at the fairisle mittens last night because my hand is a lot better, and oh dear what a catastrophe...dropped stitches, naughty words and flying woolbut it won't beat me... might take a while but I will get there.
kathy - what lovely news from your sister it will be so much easier for them both now your mom has taken to the wheelchair
chalky - good news about the little chap wont be long now until you can see at first hand how he is doing
psso - glad to hear you are building up your stamina and strength but gently does itThe angel claire bodywarmer I think was one of Mayflower's beautiful patterns
DS1/DIL and DGS came for tea yesterday we had a great time, the little feller is so full of energy, he was out in the garden most of the time playing, then into the bath before they went home and was asleep before they had gone very far.
off to update now TTFN Love Anne xx0
