Hello all, hope everyone is having a nice day.

I decided to knit a corner to corner blanket with a big ball of aran. Didnt have any circular needles so am trying to cram as many stitches on my needles as possible to make it big :rotfl: I am spending ages thinking about it, whether to re-do it on bigger needles, crochet round it, knit a border - think the sun has got to my head!

Well off to hospital for Oh's cancer check up so no tension here :D

    Hugs to all xxx

    Hi everyone

Ginny - I hope the appointment goes well and that the tension can ease for you both.

Chalky - I hope little William is doing well and that the visit to the dermatologist is a positive one.

I have just done the update, up to today; you can find it here:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDREdE9nS2pPYTRlcFQ3Ujc5ekNKamc&usp=drive_web#gid=0

I made a separate category for the Little Yellow Ducks.

It's been pouring with rain since the day before yesterday, which is a bit of a pain because I wanted to get the washing up to date before we leave for the UK tomorrow. I've dug out a huge holdall to hold the new wool I will be bringing back with me. I'm almost as excited about that as I am about seeing our family and friends. I've been a bit anxious because my DIL1 was taken to hospital last week with what they initially thought was a mini stroke. Thank heavens that it wasn't. They think it was a particular type of migraine, which she suffers from anyway, bless her. She's back at home now but has been having lots of tests. It was all a bit frightening for everyone; she's only 41.

Anyway, we come back on 5th June, but I will call in again before we leave tomorrow.

Ginny-I'll be interested to hear how you get on with the blanket as I find knitting on circular needles very difficult - possibly because I am quite a tight knitter.
I have done a baby blanket on straight needles .

Hope all goes well with your OH's check up.

Ginny - hope all has gone well on the check up - I was sent a reminder last week - mine is due early next month oops I had completely forgotten all about it!

Kathy - have a great holiday - I will make a note to do the spready while you are away and go see where all the wee ducks end up on the map as you drop them off in various places.

I have a baby shawl on the circulars at present but its getting a bit on the heavy side I did start it off on straights - the bit that's been knitted is sitting in a pillow slip so I just turn the whole lot IYKWIM when I get to the end of the rows, its also keeping it relatively clean which can only help.

Hope William had a great visit to the doc and he is mending quickly
    xx

off to sort out MY SIGNATURE - oops I keep forgetting it!

She'll everyone. Thank you for your continued good wishes for William. To see him sitting up at the table for a meal and playing with play dough made my week.

Ginnyi do hope DOH's check went well. I am so sorry that you have all this stress and tension. It must be so worrying all the time.

Kathyhave the best time on every coulny. I know your heart will be beating extra fast as you see your family, your lovely Mum and the wool shop door. Enjoy every minute.

jeani hope you manage to get everything done. I hate painting and I am very bad at it!!!! I am also very, very bad at knitting on circular needles I gave mine to Pippa! So I am with you thirzah

mrsMoneypennyi bet it will look even prettier with the colour change.

psso I hope you are feeling a little stronger every day. Slowly, slowly does it.

Well we have a very busy weekend ahead of us. dOHS aunt is coming down with a friend to stay at SIL's barn to celebrate her 90 th birthday. So that fills their barn up. So staying with us are our nephew and his partner and DD2 is coming home from Barcelona with South African boyfriend. His first ever visit to the U.k. So, of course we are absolutely over the moon about that. She is home for a week!!!!!!

Lots of entertaining I think as her friends all come to see her and meet Bernie!

Well I have finished my little clutch of duckies for the moment.
    1 has gone to Harpenden
    1 to Chester.
    1 to Liverpool.
    I released 1 in Totnes.
And there are 2 left to set free.

Love to one and all xxx
Try and do a good deed every day.

Quick call to wish Kathy a safe journey home. Hope the holdall has elasticated sides so it will streeeeeeetch.

I don't like circulars and use long straight needles for blankets. Good idea putting the shawl in a pillowcase to keep it clean Jean.

Ginny, hope DH's check up was satisfactory.

I had appointment with my gp yesterday. My leg wound (where they took the vein out for the grafts) is a bit inflamed so he has given me antibiotics to zap it. Whatever next.

Actually managed to do a couple of rounds of a granny before falling asleep. Progress indeed.
