So glad you had such a good break, Ginny.
The sun is beaming here, I've finished my second duck, and my new presents have arrived, just three days after ordering them from Amazon UK. Besides my perfectly beautiful new food mixer, and the lovely hand blender and chopper thing, I also ordered an oven thermometer and a 3-litre pump-action flask, and they all arrived together. Only problem now is that I don't really have time to play with them, and I have to convince DH that I really do need to keep the good boxes they all arrived in!
Thinking of Elaine and William today, and sending lots of hugs.
Have a great day.

Hello lovely people. I am sure the sun is shining wherever you are . It's splendiferous here!!!!
Well DOH has gone for his cup final weekend to Weymouth which generally means I have a whole weekend in my PJ's eating cheese and chutney sandwiches and playing with my sewing machine, hook or needles. BUT NO. DSIL AND BIL and ARCHIE the Westie are here. It's bedlam. But I am soon they will soon get sorted. At the moment I am chief dog sitter, gopher, food deliverer and anything else you can put your mind to!
Of course moving from a big house to a smaller one is tricky. Thank goodness it's been dry as there are boxes everywhere.
I have just been and done a big shop as think some cold drinks of the collapso variety will be needed later!!!
Kathyi am sorry your hands are so painful but am glad your new toys arrived so quickly! Your house will be smelling gorgeous. I am so glad those biscuits are such a success.
mrs M glad the little parcel arrived xx
jeanwent to Haberdashery to buy poppers and could not work out how to fix them on ... No wonder they were eyelets not poppers. No help for me I fear! I have just used your super bag for the first time ... So much more useful than a pin cushion!
Ginnyhope you have settled back home Ok. Great that you had such a lovely time.
Elainei hope all you are doing is ... Nothing more than you want to. Take great care of yourself xx
f1 my son in Dubai has just won the schools division of F1 in the UAE and is now going on to the world championships. Exciting.
Well I must get on. Old freezer defrosted whilst we were away. Just what I needed when I went to it in the garage this morning. It wasn't long since the last one did the same. I can't bear to have another claim as I am sure they will think I am having them on. So, it's all bagged up in black sacks!!!
I hate wasting stuff so much but it was disgusting.
Yay! Only 36 hours APPROX til smelly cast comes off !!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING HERE!! thank you Chalky I really needed that one! By the way you are not alone on the buying of the wrong stuff - I have to hide it when I do it! I was certain you didn't need a pin cushion - wee bag for your pocket is far better.
Kathy are the cakes made yet? Do I need to rush down the road?
Link to duck in space!!!- not a clue what I am doing photo wise today, and it took a whole day to stitch and suff the poor wee thing. Will sort it tomorrow.

My bags will go to Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow - can't remember how I came by contact details for it.
There's a Beads of Courage tab with instructions and a list of hospitals and an address for sending them off. I notice they don't mention the labels at all.
More info on the US site http://www.beadsofcourage.org/
Link for labels - they came from Tucson, no postage charge, ordered online!

In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Yes I have the washing machine whizzing away as I type - lots of smelly fishing gear and hubby cant smell it  had to open the car window as it got hotter in the car today.
Cant wait for Dgs to arrive tomorrow. He is at nursery full time now, gosh he is a big boy.
Chalky will be counting down the hours with you till William is sortedI think next time you go away someone needs to go and check your freezer!
My greenhouse is full to the brim with big seedlings, Dds fella came over and watered them for me as I was worried they would die on me.Good of him to walk 3 miles round trip just to do that. My friend fed our stray cat and the rabbit but thought it cheeky to water the mass of plants too.
Think I will be having an early night as I slept badly the last 2 due to single bed with a bit of a cheap mattress but they are really for kiddies so no complaints.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
No, Jean, no cakes made yet, or anything else for that matter. I have been 'helping' DH to do up the utility room. We should have bought some worktop yesterday afternoon but the customer service in M Bricolage was truly appalling, and we ended up walking out empty-handed! Now we will have to buy it at the only other place local to us that has a huge choice of about three different colours. Don't they want the business here? On a positive note, we had to have two new tyres fitted, and that went as smooth as clockwork so you win some, you lose some. And the lady in the haberdashery was wonderful. I was looking for a cushion insert for the cushion cover I have made for my sister. They didn't have any, so I bought the cushion filling (a huge bag for €6) and some white cotton fabric to make one. I asked for a meter and, as it was the end of the roll, she let me have all that was left, which turned out to be almost another meter, so I have plenty to make some more cushions with. The fabric in there is to die for, and I will treat myself to another visit when we come back from our trip back home.
Which reminds me, I must book the ferry this morning. We are hoping to go back home on Thursday for two weeks! I can't wait to get back and see everyone, (and buy some desperately needed knitting wool!).
Pippa - you've probably left now, but I hope you have a wonderful time.
Chalky - you must be counting down the minutes until little William is upright again!
Well, I must get a wiggle on. DH is out this morning doing a quote for someone, so I shall try and experiment with the new toys that arrived yesterday!
The sun is already high in the sky and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. We are off to a party this afternoon and evening, for our neighbours who got married three years ago. Tradition dictates that they bury their old single lives - along with loads of alcohol - in the garden in a hole that is as deep as the bride is tall. We attended that rather high-spirited event, along with the wedding, and now it's time to dig it all up and drink it, which will be happening today; I expect a hangover tomorrow.

As you can see, I am still surfing when I should be doing other things, but I've found this and just had to share it with you all:
34 Signs You Might Be (or know) a Crocheter
When your kids try to ask you a question and you respond with counting louder.
You can quote any movie or TV show and know exactly what's going on, but have NO CLUE what the characters look like.
Your phone autocorrects to sc/dc/st/FLO/fpdc when you try to type real words
You find NO offense in being called a hooker!
You count loudly and stare down people that are trying to talk to you while you finish a row.
You lose multiple hooks/needles/supplies without ever leaving the spot youve been in for hours.
You just nod your head and roll your eyes when your hubs calls it knitting for the 749th time this week.
When "frog" is no longer an animal that croaks
One of your top priorities when looking for a new home is finding adequate storage for your yarn.
When you have a hook and a skein in your glove compartment in case of emergency.
When your pattern stash is larger than what you'll ever finish
You have more yarn than clothing
Your kids don't ask you to buy them toys they ask if you will crochet them something, and you are so honored that you drop everything to complete it despite any other WIP.
You go on vacation and google ahead of time where all the yarn stores are. yep, true story.
You have to start thinking about Christmas gifts NOW!
You spend your time trying to prove to people that crocheting isn't just for little old ladies!
Your before bed mantra is "one more row, one more roll, one more row "
When every pattern you find requires a yarn you don't have and therefore, you are FORCED to go buy more yarn.
when your hubby knows he can bribe you do do almost anything with the promise of new yarn!
The phrase "I've got balls" is't dirty!
You follow someone in a store wearing a cute crochet scraf or hat, trying to figure out what stitch was used, what type of yarn without letting said person know you are following you.
you're working furiously on a piece to get it finished, hold off going to the potty till it's an emergency, & then get caught up in your yarn while making a mad dash to get there! Only to pull out half of the last row you were working on!!!!
Your lint roller is covered with mohair, wool, fun fur AND pet fur.
You pack your yarn bag for a road trip but forget your tooth brush. (True story just this morning.)
Your husband is proud to tell people his wife is a hooker who works with hard wood (since I carve hooks, also...)
you wake up in the morning wrapped up in the yarn you were using before you fell asleep last night.
When you go to take a shower you find crochet hooks stashed in your top, pockets, and hair. Not to mention in the car, in your purse, and every room in the house!
You have tried telling your husband that your yarn habit helps keep the heat bill down and we even need more yarn because we live in an old, poorly insulated house.
If, when pregnant, the first thing that gets packed in your hospital bag is yarn!
You might crochet if the words " baby weight" have nothing to do with a well child visit!
You only ever shout at the dog ( or dogs in my case) when they catch your yarn ( usually by accident) and drag half your project round the room .....happened again today lol!
You cant watch a TV show with out looking at the crochet items saying I can remake that. As you pause it till you can figure it out or till the kid and hubby yells
Craft store employees know your kids by name!
when you get up from your chair you drag a long string of yarn with you and you don't notice it until you're already in the kitchen. And then that last row you were working on is completely undone.
And here's why you should always have a crocheter by your side... you know, in case of emergencies and stuff.
You are on a road trip in a rental and hit a coon causing the front bumper to fall off on one side. Your only tools are: yarn, scissors and hooks. You crochet a chain to tie the bumper to the battery posts and cut away the debris with your favorite scissors and still drive 13 hours home with no issues.
play hard ... play hookyKNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:
