yesterdays double dose of good news has even brightened the weather. its looking lovely here.

was helping out at school on a trip as well as work most of yesterday but i did have a session sewing bags when i got back ive got 14 ready that just need the cords putting through to finish them off. also knitted two little yellow ducks at the weekend they need building.

not sure what today will bring but the front hedge is looking ratty so i might try and tame that. will mean Dh will have to have a thorn digging session out of my hands later as i always get loads!

hugs to all and have a great day everyone

    Hi Jean

I'll be making bread first, probably. My breadmaker broke down some time ago and it hurts my hands too much to do the kneading by hand. I only ever used the breadmaker to do the mixing and kneading; I would then take it out, prove it, and bake it in the main oven. The new mixer has a decent dough-making hook which I hope will take all the effort out! Then I will be trying all sorts of cakes and so on. The hand blender thingy is to help with chopping veggies. I make loads of soups, sauces, salsas, and so on, and the chopping also hurts my hands so, all in all, the goodies are to help keep me cooking for longer!

Kathy until the new equipment arrives try using that recipe (or half - if you can't find a big enough container) it's delish - uses the cheapest plain flour on the market - not the expensive bread flour.
and can also be cooked in the slow cooker - but I prefer it in the conventional oven.

  • Glad the Bonjour Hedgies arrived safely. I have been cutting grass all afternoon (According to the French Lunar Calendar - this is a good day to do it and it will retard grown - I blooming hope so) and have now come in for a shower then a tall glass of something cool to keep me in a chair out in the garden for at least half an hour I shall take some knitting and that might encourage me to just sit - believe it will be a duck, then I can do the labels in French as well as English - don't want the poor wee mite being left abandoned because no one understands what its all about! Later then lovelies.

Bi-lingual ducks - what ever next :rotfl:

I have made 2 ducks and I love them, didnt bring the labels or I would have left them in the village.

Starting packing up -ie chuck it all in bag time. Had a lovely restful time, sat in the sun, watched the real ducks float by. Chatted with Marie the owner and the chefs at the little restaurant. Not a posh restaurant but high quality food and nice people. Im looking forward to getting home, you know what they say 'its nice to go travelling but its oh so nice to come home' I really need my own bed :D
