Some friends of mine have called their new son Wulfstan. Poor little mite. He looks just like a little Peter or a David, really.

It seems the fashion at the moment to give kids first names which are traditionally surnames, so if you don't want anything too common I would stay right away from those.

I'd also stay away from something that sounds made up, is spelled incorrectly or is a noun. I know some American men called Summer, Briar and Barley. I expect their parents thought they were nice, unusual names at the time but all I can think is "What kind of drugs were those fools on at the time?"

    Edit: Jarleth?

I love old fashioned names myself, my son is called george.

How about Noah, thats quite unusual. But still nice.

Did anyone see that 3 in a bed programme about B&B owners? one of the owners this week was Richard Organ. It pays to be careful.

Been reading some of your suggestions and like alot of them like Noah. But my cousins little un is called that. Loved the idea of shouting it in asda, great way of testing a name. I still like Jesse. But shouting it in asda would be a bit mad. Keep them coming. My surname is Finnigan if that help. And Im not calling him Micheal.lol
