I personally like Samuel, Alex, Daniel, Morgan, William, Adam, Ethan. All not *too* common, and still classy.
You don't want to saddle your baby with a name that's too baby-ish, chavvy or "out there", one day they'll be grown ups! lol

There are three good tests to try out a new baby name -

    1. You lose your little moppet in Tesco, how confident do you feel running up and down the aisles calling "Layton/ Sonnie/ Jessy/ Clayton/Bede/Jude/Dillon/Westley".

    2. Your son/daughter has their full name name called out over a tannoy system. Does anyone snigger and turn to look at the unfortunate child with the daft name? (Layton Clayton, Sonnie Day etc)

    3. Spoken out loud or written down which springs to mind - President of the USA or Las Vegas stripper?

And Jessy is a girl's name - Jesse is the spelling for boys!

Rude Jude or Jude the Prude? :o

I called out for my son George in the supermarket - Morries - in a particularly sharp tone on Tuesday in the daytime. Three old age men startled and looked particularly sheepish and guilty! Must be their usual response to having their name called by their wives!! I knew he was a George when he was born. He just fitted the name!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I love Riley for a little boy and have always said if I'm lucky enough to have a son that will be my first choice, not sure the BF would agree thou! LOL!

I also like Logan, Joshua, Jake, Mackenzie, Callum, Keegan, Kai ... can't think of any more at the mo! But I also love unusual names and as someone who at school had one of the most common names in the class I can assure you I got just as much teasing as the people with strange names! The kids used to try and think of different things to call us all so that each "Sam" had their own little nickname, the majority of which being evil and nasty!!
Kids will tease other kids for whatever reason, and if they get teased today about their name tomorrow it will be forgotten and someone else will be being teased for the way their hair looks!

Don't forget to check initials too. Willam might be a nice name, but if your surname is Croft......

    I quite like Charlie.

To be honest I struggle a bit with boys names.

My sister called her little un Leo which suits him really well.
Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..

Hi, I always loved the names Adam, Jacob and Jarleth,
and I agree with checking the initials don't spell something!
If we had called our DD a name beginning with O her initials would be OCD :-)
