How about Noah, thats quite unusual. But still nice.

My twin grandsons who are nearly 4 months old are called Travis and Noah. Travis does sound a bit like a c&w singer I suppose , but I think my daughter and SIL were thinking more of the likes of Travis Barker. It does go very well with his surname (better than Ethan which was under consideration) and I can see his name in lights in 18 years or so as a singer , actor or even as an author like his paternal Grandad! More than likely end up working in the NHS like his Dad and other Grandad though :rotfl:
Same old same old since 2008

  • Hi all,

New member! My lil boy is due in 3 weeks time n i have a bundle of names floating round my head but cannot make a clear cut decision! We are definitely ones 4 the unusual 2 but believe you cant be as adventurous as you can with baby girls!

We have 4 year old Jasmine Summer and are looking 4 something with just as nice a ring 2 it!

My faves (all of which daddy hates) are
    Spencer
    Deacon
    Archie
    Finley
    Kai
    Guy

I am up against strong opposition....i think it will be a case of it going right to the finishing line! haha:)

Spencer always make me think of long sleeve vests...

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

i called my youngest son Edward (eddie for short) - i can't tell you the number of people that said wow, what an unusual name !! i guess there are so many kids nowadays called something totally bizarre (one i heard of was Ibroxy... guess they were Rangers fans) that Edward sounded unusual.

as per a previous post, when naming a baby you have to give them a name that will suit them when they're a kid, a teen, an adult and a pensioner. i do pity some kids with out of the ordinary names.
    RATFINK DAISIES!!!!

My 4 month old son is Gwilym John. It's a long standing family name (I think all 4 of his great grandfathers were either William/Gwilym or John). Gwilym is the Welsh version of William, I was a bit unsure at first but I love it now! However, we don't live in Wales and I do have to repeat it and spell it a lot! I love going back to Wales as this never happens, and it fits in really nicely when we are speaking Welsh as well :-). My daughter is called Eira, which again is known, although not common, in Wales - but not at all in Oxford!
