I love the name Tristan, its at the top of our list of boys names for when we have a child, its not chavvy but different enough there won't be ten of them in the same class (hopefully)

A friend of mine was expecting, and they were discussing names. MIL called up (can't remember if she lived in South America, or Africa) and suggested a popular name over there which was pronounced Mad-in-oo-sa. Apparently mothers-to-be spotted it written in the clothes they got and liked it - MadeinUSA

Oh good god!! Sugarray and Stallone?!! Seriously!!!
Someone I used to work with had 2 girls, Georgia and Armani(although she instead 'Armani' was pronounced Ar-Mar-Nay!)

Absolutly seriously. Infact, I might even search facebook to see if I can find them again!

I do like it, especially Finnigan, but still would worry about calling a boy Jesse because of teasing - as in 'Oi you big jessie' Mind you, boys names usually get changed by their mates anyway however short they are so he'd probably grow up being called Jez or something - I've now got a 'Sat Nav' (he can find his way back from anywhere - very useful on the lads only holidays), 'Cod' (only one letter shorter than Cody but annoys me cos he's not a fish) and 'Small' (although the last one was our fault as he was the smallest/youngest and it's stuck even though he's now 15 and nearly 6ft). and does it go with your surname?

I like Jesse for a boy and did think about the whole Big Jessie thing but i don't think you really hear it any more i certainly haven't heard jessie used as a derogeratory term for a long time.

I know someone with a Jesse.. and he never gets anything other than Jesse.. even at school.. he is at secondary now... I don't think children use 'big Jesse' any more.. they just tell them they are 'gay'
