No not a light sleeper, just not sleeping at the moment, love christmas because its special for the children, but hate it because of family politics and also it will be 2 years next month that me dad died, also worrying about money etc, i really wish me could afford to go away for christmas and not have to deal with things here but we can't afford it.0

Hi there it's a MF wannabe! In fact this year we actually added to the mortgage:eek: wish it was actually true that we were mortgage free! But when I cleared our CC debts etc last year (You can guess the story..12 years of marriage, 2 DDs and lot of debt to show for it..) I was determined not to just do what I had always done before (consolidation on one card then building it up again etc etc) again I basically needed to change my attitude to money generally and so have made regular OPs into the mortgage.
One of the things that has also slowly but surely turned the oil tanker around was to get OH to be more aware of money and what we spend it on..he is a great one for behaving like an ostrich with his head in the sand about all sorts of things..:)
Best of luck with all your plans!! XMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Gas and electric readings entered online, have used £4.19 in Gas this week, not bad as CH has clicked on a couple of mornings this week so thought it may of gone up and electric have used £14.61 so that has gone down slightly, as long as i can keep the 2 below £20 a week, then we should remain in credit:D.0

Morning, omg its wild outside here, wind woke me up at 5.30am, decided to get up at 6 as there was no way i could get back to sleep, thought the roof was about to fly off:eek:.Not that i have done much since getting up have pottered around, drank tea and mooched on here.
Plans for today are work this morning, home and make soup and flapjack and have a general tidy up. Need to pay for Brownie trip, think that is about it.0 -
Afternoon, still blowing a gale here, really bitter cold.
Postie brought me another product to test today, well not me the cat, so have 5 sachets of cat meat for him to try, again a bit more shaved off the grocery budget:).
Getting worried about my job, talk of cuts next year and my contract runs out in August so might not be renewed, all the more reason to buckle down and get debts paid.
Have decided i'm going to try payment a day but in my own way, going to try to put a minimum of a pound a day in savings account everyday, or round my account up to the nearest pound, i will keep it in savings account until day before payday, that way if i need it suddenly its there if not i can pay it off halifax card and with it being seperate i'm less likely to just spend it.0
