Well guys cheque arrived this morning from tax man and has been banked, just need to write a list and sort out what i'm buying.
Been naughty and have been and spent £6 on sausages in the butchers simple because i fancy them fot tea and not the mince i had got out for cottage pie, naughty i know and i'm over my grocery spend, also nippes into co op and bought some potatoes and grapes.
Blumming freezing again today, my nose is still snotty and i have a really sore thought, think if i feel no better by monday i will go to the docs, i'm so ready for half term and having a week beetling around the house, not having to rush anywhere.
Capital one CC statement also came today, but it not due until next month, so will come out of next months wages.
Need to sort out overtime sheet this weekend and get it handed in on Monday otherwise will not get till the next month.
This weekend really need to bake and make bread, going to have to go to Asda or Sainsburys and stock up on bread flour it has doubled in price in Tesco.
Ebay bids are up to £12, some finish on Sunday and others on Wed, will relist those that don't sell as they are christmasy things, so have plenty of time for people to buy them.0 -
Well done honey,
I too work in the ASD unit of a special school and know what you mean about the run up to christmas - especcially having kids at home too. Feels like you never get away doesn't it??
Keep it up sweetie. xxLight Bulb Moment 29/03/10!!Starting Fresh to get my house and finances sorted! 02/02/120 -
:)Thanks cloud cuckoo, some days i think i'm goimg mad and my head is just spinning after a day at work, its very mentally exhausting.
Well hubby gave me £30 he owes me so i potled off to Sainsburys hoping to stock up on bread flour seeing as Mr T has decided to put it up from 50p to £1.29:eek:, still 60p in sainsburys only 1 bag left on shelves i asked if they had any more and they said they had run out:(, So as i was in town i pootled over to Asda don't normally shop here as i hate the store as its near a very rough estate and the people that shop there are seriously scary, actually the people that work there arn't much better( only talking about this store not all of them, before i offend someone), any way they had none left either, i can see them both putting prices up next week, gonna keep checking online.
Spent £29 on groceries in Sainsburys and £20 in nectar points on Dressing up clothes for halloween for DD and DS:D.
No mail today which = no bills:). ebay bids are up to £15.
Have loads today today-
Empty ashes from stove and relight
clean out guinea pigs
all washing done (ready to iron tommorrow)
make bread and cakes
write christmas present list
Photograph and list 3 things i found for ebaying.
sweep and mop through hall/kitch/dining room
hoover living room and stair
if i have time start digging out kids rooms:eek:0 -
Hi there
I have lurked and read the thread from the beginning. Well done on starting to budget and tackle the debts. Budgeting is hard at first. Something i have found out is that I forget to put money away for yearly expenses like AA/RAC. Must get organised for next year and have a pot for that!
Just an observation, but is there any mileage in you doing a joint Statement of Affairs? I was just wondering if you would pay off all the debt quicker if you did the finances jointly? Also if you are going to keep things separate, are you both paying out an equal proportion of your wages on household expenses?
My other observation is about your meals! sorry! but you seem to have a starter some times, or something other than plain veg for the veg. but i eek out my shopping budget by using say cauliflower cheese as a whole meal one night (with pasta in it too it is very filling, also means a meatless night, so much cheaper:D).
You might also want to do an inventory of the cupboards/freezer so that you really know what is in there. I did this recently and found I had enough stuff really to not shop at all for a week except for fruit and milk:o oops!
Ref the baking, I don't suppose you can get to a wholesaler where you could get flower in bulk then?
good luck with the rest of your journey
chev
ps I also wondered why you were cleaning out the GP's shouldn't this be a children's pocket money task (yes i am evil sorry)I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi chevalier, thanks for posting.
Regarding bills etc, hubby pays all household bills, mortgage, insurances, gas etc out of his account, i pay for groceries, things for children, my own petrol, even though we have seperate accounts, we don't see it as this is your money this is mine.
Would never really serve a vegatarian meal unless it was jkt spuds with beans to hubby, he works outside all year doing a hard manual job, its nothing for him to work a 14 hour day for 12 days running, he needs good solid food to keep him going, anyone who knows a farmer will also know that to not give them meat is like cutting there hand off:rotfl:.
I have a list of whats in the cupboards, need to do one for the 2 freezer:o. Guinea pigs are also my responsibility as 1 of them is mine, the children do help, make sure they have clean water and food and DDs job is to give them fresh fruit/veg every morning.
Very unproductive day yesterday, baking didn't get done, nether did washing, ebay or christmas list:o, oh well try to get it done today.
Off out this afternoon with kids/dogs thought we would have a nice long walk, will need it as hubby has just made a massive fry up and it was delish, but i'm fit for bursting don't think i will eat now until tea time.
Both kiddies are sat doing homework:), so i'm going to go and have a shower and tidy upstairs whilst its quiet.0 -
No worries, I just wondered. Sometimes people don't see a different way of doing things, might make life easier until it is pointed out to them
Glad to see you have it apportioned fairly.

Also my very clever hubby has saved us a fortune, i managed to break the handle bit of the toilet and then tried to fix it and snapped another little bit inside the cistern(lucky we have 2 loo's),any way yesterday afternoon he beetled off to wickes bought the parts and fixed it this morning :j,so no calling out a plumber, i think he deserves to be made a choccie cake for that:D.0
