Bogof_babe, have you discovered BBC7 and Oneworld(I think!). Invest in a radio times - or better still search for listings on the internet. Lots of lovely serials, comedy shows both modern and waybackthen, plays and no programmes of 'men talking' like radio 4!

Nah, it's not really pink enough for me, not to mention the fact that I've never had a grilling machine and think it would be another gadget taking up space.

Now, when someone invents a four person sandwich toaster with removable washable REALLY non-stick plates, it could even be lime green and I'd buy it!

Happy with my oval pink clock from Morrisons (£3.99) which looks just FAB in my bathroom with my new pink bullet bin which MIL bought me for Christmas (at my request, I hasten to add).

Did I tell anyone I also managed to buy a pink watch with gold bits? Too many people seem to think that if you have a pink watch strap you want a silver watch, silver hands etc with it, which I don't.

Anyway, there I was at the service station (I know, but I was desperate for coffee) and suddenly I saw a watch stall. And there on the stall was the watch of my dreams: pink strap, gold face, gold hands and gold buckle. And only £6! Calling out to me! I heard it, honest!

It's a pity that the effect of gold hands on a gold face is that it's damn near impossible to read the time, especially as it has a second hand to confuse the issue. :o Or is that just my age? :rotfl:

I'm off to visit my old friend in Dartford this afternoon, and her OH is planning an itinery for the two of us to do a 'Thelma & Louise' in the U.S. this year. It's got to be this year as I'm not too sure how long my joints will keep going ,my walking ability is going downhill a bit at the moment .So with a bit of luck us two old dears will be cavorting around the U.S. at some point this year:j ,Yippee the Barmy Brits are coming:j :rotfl: :rotfl:
I am amazed that my two DD's have agreed to let me go, they worry too much I think:j

Surprise surprise, I haven't been in here for ages I didn't think anybody visited anymore. Seems us 'older' (can't think of a different word) people keep a little quiet most times.

I haven't been disgraceful lately either, been hibernating in the cold dark WET and short days of winter. Today is dry at the moment and that's amazing.

Hope you have a nice weekend, we may go somewhere this weekend only about an hour's drive away just for a change of scenery.

JackieO hope you have a great time too, from what I've read about you you will.

Thanks for the glasses, Glad! I do have a pair like that, but keep them in the car for mapreading because I could only get them in the strongest strength, which is about what I need for that because of course the light's not always that good.

The other thing to blame is the light. See above: I can read almost anything as long as I've got a decent light. Feel blind as a bat on the bus these winter evenings.

Can't really blame my glasses because I only wear them when I'm sitting down reading, and that's only because my arms have shrunk. It is the contrast thing, pure and simple. Watch is definitely NOT going back!

It's a lovely day here today, shame I'm stuck at work which I'd probably better get back to ...

Hi folks, lets substitute old for free shall we. We should all have the confidence, after living so long, not to take the rubbish we were handed out by men/women in collar and ties, teenagers, threatening letter ect.ect. wear what you want, as long as it doesnt frighten the horses or make small children cry, do what you want, !!!!!! off on your own to somewhere nice, it,s your money and you worked for it. This also includes women who gave their lifes to their family, you now have the chance to do what you want, if you have athritis go somewhere beneficial for that nasty condition, get your meals put down to you, have massages and suanas and beauty treatments, even if you dont think they,ll do any good to your face they do make you feel better. Who cares if you want to wear a pink watch, it,s your choice, go for it
