Grow old disgracefully.

I don't know if it counts, but DH and I have just been away for the weekend, WITHOUT THE BOYS! We took the eldest back to Uni, and then went to a hotel for two nights. Although we did pre-plan it. I wouldn't leave the younger two home alone, so made sure the chap we share the house with would be here.
Anyway, we had a good time, forgetting all about the computer problems we'd had, taking far less luggage than usual because of fitting all DS1's stuff in the car with us, and relaxing ...
We were also a bit disgraceful to his parents: arranged a surprise lunch for them for their 50th wedding anniversary, took the younger two boys out of school, plotted with their other son to get old friends there, and arranged for another friend to invite them to stay for the weekend. Gave them the shock of their life when they walked into a restaurant 60 miles from home to see all of us there ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
That's nice SS hope you enjoyed it all:beer:Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

I have a wonderful MIL(AKA Mrs Buckett) who is growing old discracefully, she is 87 and looks after most of the 70 somethings in her posh block of flats.
She broke her wrist last month whilst blackberry picking and has just this last weekend hurt her leg getting out of her car, she insists on being a lady who lunches and likes nothing better than traipsing around town looking/buying clothes.
Her heart is a bit wonky but that doesn't stop her having her daily G & T or eating her chocs (there again at 87 who can blame her).
She has just rung us to say that her leg is a bit ulcerated so we have decided to have her with us for a week to calm her down and make sure she rests......no doubt she will want to be going here there and everywhere so I will have to think of things to keep her amused, I have asked her to bring her Xmas Cake recipe with her so that she can show me how to make her fab Xmas Cake, also I plan to find some old Corrie programs for her to watch on UK Gold, plus some good books, otherwise I will have to tie her down.
I hope I'm like her when I'm 87, I'm 53 and feel 90!!

They're too baby pink for me too, and I don't like cast iron, but the stronger pink apron would be nice and the Schwarz mixes won't go amiss!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

DH probably thinks it's a good thing that I HATE going to the big Tesco, and will only go if he takes me!
But there's a charity shop near the bus stop which has a whole window display of pink stuff - must get there this week! :rotfl:
Oh, and I was in Staples today, and they had nice fat biros with a light in and the lights are coloured! Guess which one I had to buy for myself ... Got pale and dark blue for my mum and dad, bought some of these a couple of years ago but mum's batteries ran out!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I'm too well know for my pink fetish too, Fran told me today she was buying some chips and went to get the free fork (posh chips shop in Wales obviously) and picked out a purple one then picked up a pink one for me
