Big mistake on Carphone Warehouse chequeback

Since the info I was given about which bills I should send in was contradictory I phoned Carphone warehouse back. The man I spoke to told me I should send in the 6th, 12th and 18th bill. I mentioned that someone else had told me something totally different and he checked and confirmed it was definitely the 6th, 12th and 18th bill. He also said he would send an email to confirm. I have now recieved the email. It says I need to send in the 6th,10th,14th and 18th bills !
By the way when I first got the contract I saved the link to a pdf file which explains all this. I just re checked it. It says I need to send the 6th , 10th, 10th (yes a second time!) and 14th bills. Going via the website I see the file has been updated (link is different). This version says send in 6th,10th,14th and 18th bills (hooray they agree !) and has a set of little forms to fill in and send with each bill. The forms say "Include with the 4th airtime bill", "Include with the 4th airtime bill" (yes again!), "Include with the 8th airtime bill" and finally "Include with the 12th airtime bill". See now I'm all confused again !0 -
Something else to be wary of: The bill numbers may be wrong, and the text messages mean nothing.
I sent back bill 4, as stated by the paperwork and branch staff when I bought the contract. I got two texts, 1 to say they had the claim, the other said:
"Good News - Your chequeback claim is approved Your cheque will arrive within 30 days from today.No need to contact us-just sit back and wait for your cheque. The Carphone Warehouse"
4 days later, a letter arrived saying I had sent the wrong bill.
I phoned them up (they claim 08701117200 is free from o2 mobiles, i have not checked my bill yet) and got through without needing a PIN or anything to a nice lady who apologized and said basically the bill number is misleading. They don't count the first bill because it's only for part of a month.
So now I will try sending them bill 5 when it arrives. I am not optimistic about this process.

I can't beleive what I have just read. I have had a cheque back contract with CPW for 2 years now...finishing on and starting another. Don't think I'll do it agai reading all these posts...too risky altho I have been ok so far. I always thought CPW were ok, my contract is with O2 thur them, cheque back offer.0
