yes it does!!
ive been doing cashback for 3-4 years now (through dial a phone and e2save).....i do exactly as u have described (special delivery being the key, if you ask me!!)......and i have never ever lost a single claim
e2save, just sent me my last cheque, gave them a call after a few weeks to give them a nudge.....its all you have 2 do
if they ask for the original bill, take photo copies and keep reciepts etc etc
cover your back at all times.
i deff agree about sending the relevant bill, the sameday it arrives, that way it arrives 24 hours later, so even if u did send the wrong bill, you have plenty of time to correct it!0 -
...assuming the cashback deal gives you more than one bite at sending the right bill in.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

I was about to send a cashback claim. I was double checking the address on their website. I see that CPW have changed their cashback address.
Do you think some claims will get 'lost' because of the change?Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -

Take legal action online, it cost £30 and you should include postage, phone and whatever cost incurred by you chasing them up. https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk , if you need help then post here. Its not that difficult to do and have a very high successful rate. The company normally pays up once they get a court letter.
I have never needed to use legal action on my cashbacks because I always get it from osps, cpw and e2save. I always use special delivery post.0 -
This problem is CPW though!
I use recorded delivery but can't quite bring myself to use special delivery, which looks like it costs £4.10 and gives you unnecessary guaranteed next day delivery. Of course it ought to reimburse you if it doesn't get there - but not if the retailer folds!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

Thanks for the advice but I have been sending letters to Carphone Warehouse by special delivery without much success. A £30 legal action cost is also like throwing good money after bad considering that my 2nd cheque back claim is only worth £50. I have now decided to take the last best option for an aggrieved customer like me and that is to stop dealing with companies like Carphone Warehouse which promises a lot and delivers almost nothing and take my custom somewhere else. I believe this action will save me some money and, more importantly, from a lot of aggravations.0 -
gromituk wrote:What for what? If you're talking about cashback, perhaps because it can save hundreds of pounds per phone per year? If you are organised and can stand the risk, then go for it. You don't even have to be particularly organised, as your actions are triggered by the arrival of a bill. Simply keep your bills and cashback vouchers in an envelope and note the relevant dates on the back. The end result is exactly the opposite of what you suggest - you make money out of them.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

Kala if you have stuck to the terms of the claim and they are not paying up then legal action is not throwing away money, you will get the legal fee (£30) your £50 cashback and communication costs incurred by you chasing them if the legal action is successful. I stress again, providing you have fulfilled the the terms of claiming legal action WILL get all your money back. Get your money back then never deal with them again.0
