Yeah, but what hacks me off is that the price of oil is in dollars, yet the dollar has lost 20% of its value against sterling in the last year, yet the price to us at the pumps and home heating oil purchases continues to rise as if this didn't happen...whose taking all the profit, whose shafting the everyday Joe...?

Yeah you guessed.......the enemies of the common people.....

    Hi There

    completely new to oil, so can I have some advice;

Havent moved into the house yet, but...

On average how much do people pay over a year, currently I use gas and pay about £35-40 per month for gas - the property is a 2 bed, modern - only 2 years old

Also what prices are people finding in Cornwall
how do I find the capacity of the tank?
    is their a comparism site
if it says on the monitor 2 how long should this last? does the monitor start at 5/10 or do they differ

is there a link to another thread? searched and come up with this one any others you can recommend

Appreciate any help, thanks in advance

Try www.boilerjuice.com most domestic tanks are abot 300 gallons (1500 L)

The cost depends on what you are using it for gas tends to be heating, hot water cooking & fires, Oil is usually heating and maybe hot water.

The monitor depends on the type and if it has been installed correctly.

Was checking the price of oil yesterday for myself and my father. I only recently moved into a new house and this was the first time i needed to order oil as my old house was gas. I was quoted a price of £336 by Fuel Services for 900L, however when I asked for a price for my father I was quoted £344 as he is a current customer!! Apparently existing customers are expected to fork out an extra £8 for their loyalty

Dont know what age your dad is Dave but Maxol direct (Mallusk) do a bit of a discount for pensioners.

Incidently they do a discount for translink employees also.

In reality they usually price match the lowest quote you get, they wont give you the extra discounts mentioned above

At the moment they are quoting £335 for 900 litres online.

    Anyone in the Craigavon area

    Kellys fuels £207 for 500l and £357 for 900l
Portadown Oil Supplies £200 for 500l and £345 for 900l
    Pattersons £198 for 500l and £335 for 900l

Hope this helps, I've noticed alot of the discussion is based around the belfast areas
