Good forum but important that everybody on forum is aware that some of the frequent individual users could represent some of the companies often quoted on prices.
I am an employee from one of the companies and therefore will not add to the mix and quote prices.
But happy to give advice on non-price related matters that may save some one money,i.e. what is kerosense, correct temperatures on boilers/thermostats, security of product delivery, etc.0 -
stay away from the bigger oil companies as they have big overheads and you the customers have to pay for their big fat salaries and all their staff my girlfriend got of a company called valueoils they were £18 cheaper than the big company i used to get off for yearsMorningGlory wrote: »Thanks for nothing ethicaloilman!!0 -
Hayes are currently the best for a 900L fill of 28 sec.................£294. I always used Knockbracken Fuels in the past, but they have become one of the dearest now - anywhere between £25 and £30 a fill dearer! I know a lot of folk who have dropped them because of the higher profit margin they are now taking. When I pulled them about it, all I got was a glib 'Volume is vanity, profit is sanity' remark. Shame really, as their service was always excellent.0

Valueoils? I've never heard of them?? Has anyone else in here had any dealings with that company but if the prices are that good i might just give them a call?
Online company only, MG. They are quoting £297.90 for 900 litres today, whereas I've just placed an order with Hayes for £294 - delivery tomorrow morning.0 -
Hi!
I've used valueoils.com and very happy with them. Know others that have used the company and so far no complaints. Price is very competitive!0 -
That's good to know. I'm just into my first house, and I'm trying to save the pennies where I can. Did a search today, and for 500l, valueoils were coming up with £167.40, with the next closest being Maxol at £173.83.
Think I'm going to give valueoils a try, I hope they don't let me down!0 -

IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Thanks Ivan. They're just round the corner from me too. I got a couple of bottles of gas from them about a month ago, very reasonably, and they were prompt, and delivered FOC. Only problem is, they want COD, and my current account has taken a bit of a hammering of late, so needed to put it on the credit card.
Ordered from valueoils last night, and the email told me I'd have it before Thurs 5pm... Fingers crossed0 -
That time again I'm afraid.
Any advice for competitive Home Heating Oil quotes - 900 litres.
Carrickfergus area.
All the best.0
