Goodness I haven't updated for a while. Everything is ticking along pretty well. I have paid another £2k into the offset to cover taxes etc and I am much more in the swing of invoicing and sorting out payments without feeling so panicked. I am still living in an episode of hoarders though, bookshelves arrive on Saturday so hopefully things should be more respectable by Christmas. I am going to Malaysia in June which will be lovely, the flights have been paid from my £2 saving jar, I opened it last week and between £2 and rather a lot of £1 I had £763 GO ME.

Just put another £200 into the offset, leaving myself £1k for the rest of the month so I may well be able to make another transfer in week 4 of this month. I am awaiting an IKEA delivery of book cases, not sure when I will be able to get them put together but it means the end of the house of doom/box city is in site, hurrah! A beautiful bright but freezing cold day today with the first heavy frost. Three corporate Christmas events next week and a quick nip to London to deal with a plumbing issue in one of my rented flats.

I have put up my Christmas decorations, but no real tree this year I already have too much mess to be doing a tree. I do have lighting up twigs etc so it all looks good and festive. However I seem to have a problem with my Virgin TV box as I have no TV channels which is a shame as I was about to treat myself to at least two episodes of "Say yes to the dress" I suppose this could be a sign to carry on clearing out.

I have put together one book shelf and it is looking good, now I wish I had redecorated the room first - in for a penny in for a pound? not really sure yet. Off to London tomorrow and hoping to meet up with friends for an early dinner. Moved another £50 to the offset as I think I should push it a bit this month.

OK get ready for this my final bill for getting an integrated washer replaced, and taking way the old one was £497 let's really get this one £497.......................half the kitchen had to be taken out, there was no way of turning off the water etc, etc. Anyway it is what it is I need to sell some stuff to compensate. I am working the rest of the week so it looks like I will have to hit EBay in the post Christmas flurry as I am on leave from the 24th December to the 5th January.

had a similar issue with own integrated dishwasher - except - the blooming thing bought on line was only semi-integrated when it arrived not fully integrated and needed new kitchen door = luckily found one to match kitchen in a clearance bay at a local store phew!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Honestly I could weep when you add in the cost of the washer it is £900 I wish I had just had the old one repaired, I made too hasty a decision. I need to move on though as really there is nothing I can do except pray that the dishwasher doesn't break down in the next year! No more overpayments this month and a whole 3 weeks to go. I am going to set myself some 2015 goals and get on with delivering them.

Still half working and half putting together shelving units but I am definitely making progress and my house is looking much less like student squalor. Up to date with the ironing too because my lovely Mum took it all home with her, she is a marvel and at 87 quite often puts me to shame.

Off to chase up last months invoice.

Would you mum be interesting in my ironing do you think?
My own mother was more of the "it'll dry on dear" variety and the iron often couldn't be found as she believed the best place to store it was under the washing :)

Ha, ha Watty my Mum is super old school and very perfect at many things especially baking, ironing and general super helpfulness.

I am still making small steps to much improved home environment. Also I sold four sewing machines on EBay which slightly offset the chair I bought..................Pay day on Monday.

Just to prove that I am incapable of keeping any plan on track..........I am looking at a small house to buy in Nottingham which my niece will rent a room in and I will have a room to stay in when needed, a couple of times a week. Then in two years time I can rent it out when the current job stops. It is a modern two bedroom town house, a perfect letting house. If it is as good as it seems and I can get it for a good price I will buy it.
