50 items posted? Wow you go Toots!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Meanders in.

The EBaying frenzy is on going with quite a lot of bids, it will be fine until I have to wrap it all up! However now I do need the money I am grateful for the chance to get some and to get rid of quite a lot of "treasures".

My own flat now fully certificated for gas and electricity, the deep clean and carpet clean is on Saturday and the tenants move in on 1 November, hopefully job done. I need to get a smoke alarm and CO2 alarm today though.

This afternoon I am going to do all of the moving emails and confirmations which may be the dullest task known to humans, this has been my official address for nearly 30 years changing it is more nostalgic than I expected. It would be really great if I could remember who supplied my electricity...........

Hi tootallulah, have you been overpaying at all this year?

I have you down for the 2014 MFW thread but haven't had any overpayments posted there. Please post in the thread if you have OPs to be added to the spreadsheet or if you'd like to be removed.

    Thanks :)

PM sent, rather than paying off my mortgages will increase this year and paying down will restart in 2015 I hope. I am really not getting on my feet well with this self employed lark. The cash flow is just as stressful as others who free-lance told me it was. It will be important for this month to go more smoothly, so fingers crossed.

OK more positive head on today - about time. I forgot my good news of the 50 EBay items, 37 sold and I banked £402 which is my spends for November, now I need to re-list the remainder and get more on to pay for my December spends. I am so pleased that I shopped early for my Christmas presents, that has saved a lot of stressing. And I have got one day a month working for a new client in Scotland which I will enjoy. I think that what is lowering my spirits is the mess in my house so today I will attempt (again) to break the back of that and create some areas of calm in the living room, kitchen, and study rather than pretty much every room having an area of "mess".

Oooooo forgot, used money to fill envelopes for my £10 per day and also paid my gardener. And have given myself £80 a month for food, spends so far £23.19 which was a good stock up of very reduced items at Waitrose, everything in the trolley had a reduced sticker. This means I have everything for the next two weeks and then will just need milk, fruit and veg. November will be a quiet, sorting month.

Washing machine broken down for my lovely new tenants, this is definitely a big financial slump I need to concentrate on things that are good otherwise it is a bit overwhelming. I will carry on posting even though there won't be over payments (in fact there will be mortgage increases) however I think that by the end of January I will be more stable so 2015 is IT.

Tootallulah I remember how stressful it was when I first starting being self employed. From a regular amount popping into the bank account to only getting the money one makes (and having to chase it at that) is really hard going to start with. Hang in there. Build a cushion and the benefits will come :) And then it becomes a way of life. I'd find it hard to work for others now I'm sure.

Thanks for that Watty, it gives me some hope that things will calm down! My emergency fund is disappearing very quickly I needed six months not three as I now realise it will probably take more than three months to get "steady". So all spending is battened down for the forseeable future.

It must be stressful at the moment but will all calm down as you get in the swing of things. How much work do you actually need to do as opposed to you thinking you need to do? I'm sure the two are very different.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
