Hello AL, so is retirement as good as it sounds? You are right I can do £5k a year I am lucky to have a good pension and some rental income. I might do a bit of consultancy too. Today I have been seduced by the world of Farrow and Ball paint pots blooming heck they are £3.99 each, eek! However once I have chosen a colour I can hopefully get at least one room painted over Easter.0

It's snowing, that's right SNOWING. Blooming heck. Builder arriving at 9.00, meeting a friend for lunch and travelling to London this evening. I need to start recording my spends so today I will start. My aim is 10 NSDs a months, and five days of less that £5.00 per day. We shall see!0

Hello and good to see you posting again. How exciting and you can completely do it! And the tester pots are surely cheaper than making an expensive colour mistake

hi MW, I must stress that it is EARLY retirement.
Worst try at an NSD ever. I paid the builder £350, and spent £210 on paint. I am expecting the resulting decorating to transform my home into something that looks like a grown ups home. I want everything finishing by the end of September, sadly the list is quite long.0 -
Food shopping £7.12. Gosh it is cold, I have just eaten soup had a bath and am off too bed - darlings the glamour. I am hoping for a sunnier week-end.0

Two coffees £4.50, lunch £7.80, train tickets £64. I need to have a no spending day tomorrow I NEED NOTHING.0

Warm and cosy indoors, snow bucketing down outside. My quince tree has blossomed, I think this definitely means no quinces this year all the blossom is frozen. I am going to finish a skirt I am making today and annoyingly I have to work tomorrow to do everyones year end appraisals etc. Still having the job done will be great. I have £212 left in the bank with ten days to pay day. I am aiming to have £150 left for an extra overpayment.0

New Epson printer £59.99. I need a printer for working at home, and soon I won't have access to a work printer. Half price on Amazon so I am happy with that. Off to my brother's for lunch - lovely. The sun has just come out which makes all the world look shiny. I am really looking forward to a long week-end I do hope the snow has gone by then. I want to start my tomato seeds etc.0

SUN?? If you south londoners have stolen it all, please can we have a bit back?! Tis freezing north of the river.
Early retirement - message received loud and clear. Oh to be retiring at 35
