I can highly recommend Monday through Friday lodgers if that helps at all.

Thanks Tilly I have registered on the web-site. Yesterday was a NSD and a long day at work, another today. Good times but very busy, the whole year has gone in a blink. Big Ebay listing at the week-end.

DH was a Mon-FRi lodger whilst working away last year and we have a friend who we met whilst they were a Mon-Fri working down here for 6 months. Both much prefer that option to staying in hotels. :)

This year has passed by very quickly, I have to agree...

Thanks Greent, one of my big shocks has been the terribly high cost of renting it is absolutely shocking. Due to things at work I may need a Tuesday to Thursday rental which may be better for some people so I am hopeful of getting somewhere.

I am up and about already, one load of washing in a mile high pile of stuff removed from the floor and piled on the bed, I am working through it steadily. My aim is to have the whole place spick and span by lunch time as I have to go into work today, one of those things.

My big money saving necessity of today is to do my expenses from my USA trip. At some point this morning Shiply will deliver my new to me sewing machine. I want to be tidy so as to be able to get it all set up tomorrow. I listed 20 Ebay items last night and will do another 20 today and tomorrow, fingers crossed. I have managed to do them for different end dates this time so that the Post Office won't be so challenging as my last effort when I had to do 50 parcels in one day.

That was quite an ebay listing session, hope it all sells. I need to do some serious decluttering so might list some stuff myself. Good luck with letting out your flat aswell

Altogether I have listed 58 items I am quite pleased with that, also this time there are 10, 7 day and 5 day listings so I won't be begging the PO to help me with 58 parcels in one go. Bought fruit and veg, coffees, some reduced turkey and ham for soup, £23.91.

Coffee yesterday £2.20. Lunch provided at work today and home made soup all sorted for my evening meal, excellent. I have a member of staff going on maternity leave today. I have made her two pairs of bootees and three bibs, we are all going for a very early doors drink tonight. It will be good to leave work at 5 rather than my more usual 6.30.
  • Toots - you've gone quiet! Hope everything ok with you and you're enjoying all the Xmas parties (and have not accidentally fallen and suffocated under 150 tea cosies :rotfl:!)

I have had real flu and been off work for over two weeks, I was back in yesterday to catch up on the emails and inform everyone that reports of my imminent demise are not to be taken seriously! In all honesty it has been really horrible, I have never been properly ill and it was a real shock. I haven't done anything for two weeks, literally nothing. My very dear neighbour, has been fantastic and bought me in groceries and eventually made the doctor come, a home visit which I thought ended in the 70s. Two work colleagues who I don't really know very well came and cleaned for me, it makes you realise the kindness of people.

Anyway I am feeling better and I only have another three days at work before a proper break when hopefully I will achieve loads. Taking it easy today and contemplating a realistic challenge for next year. Must be feeling better I have just bid £300 for door handles on Ebay, I know but hey it is the last finishing touch to my home improvement in the north. When I have door handles it is all done!
