  • Officially jealous! Hope the paper goes well, and enjoy the rest of the week.

I would also put meals out in the 'pocket money' category rather than food. I set myself £150 a month for fun spends, it is a struggle but manage to have a social life with it!

  • The conference is over and I am waiting to go to the airport, it has been a really good week so I am feeling inspired about the field etc, etc. I need to spend some serious time working out my expenses as at present they are on my personal credit card, eeeeeeeeeeeek. It's a ten hour flight - deep joy but never mind the week-end awaits........I am doing a bit of sewing on the flight if I manage to persuade the US people to let me bring through my needles etc, fingers crossed.

Absolutely no problem with the needles or pins, who knew? Also Phoenix airport has the friendliest customs/border people they put New York to shame. They were strict on the Xrays etc (GOOD) but they were polite about it which stops it being so stressful. Sewing made that whole ten hours in a plane thing so much better. I made a pair of baby bootees and four tree ornaments, also no-one was sitting next to me so I could spread out a bit which also helps.

I am finishing a dress that I have been making for about five week-ends this w/e come Hell or high water. I am planning on wearing it on Monday nad next week-end I am making a pair of curtains for a friend so I need to have clear space, in the sewing room and my head.

Spends today £4.95 on coffee and a scone.

At some point this week I need to weigh myself and see how that is going.

Lovely quiet peaceful day, I am not going to do anything! Still not finished the dress, I don't know why it will have to go on the back burner for curtains now - never mind.

I am pleased with myself as I have swerved Waitrose today which is most unlike me, I am weaning myself off food shopping one day at a time.........I "may" be buying a sewing machine on Ebay today, time will tell I want a light weight one to take to classes. I can sew quite well but I want to improve my skills it is one of the things for my list for next year. I hate New Year so I am going to do my review of the last year and my plans for next year the first week in December. I haven't made any of my financial targets but I am hoping that the rest of my life will be tickety boo, or at least I will have reached some of my targets.
  • I did buy a sewing machine, marvellous just what I wanted. I now need to work out how I get it to me, Shipley here I come.

No not west Yorks, that would be an easy collection I have friends in Bingley. I meant Shiply to collect the machine and deliver it. Early start today as I am back to work deep joy.

Groceries £7.49, Coffee £2.20. That should see me through to the week-end with food. I am doing a bit of Fly Ladying this week 30 minutes a day, dull as but the flat needs it.
  • Today I made a list, it is a very long list and it needs considering. On the list is EVERY pettyfogging job that needs doing at my flat, new top priority, and my house. I don't want to waste another year paying for things to be done and not getting rid of the mortgage. So I need to focus on the flat first and get it rented out, find a Monday to Thursday let and then concentrate on the house spending no more that £200 per month. That way i keep the mortgage payments up AND make progress in the house, hoorah. So as I could do this, what excuses will I make that stop me doing it???????????????
