not sure on emergency fund, am aiming for 3-4K for us which would do an emergency or 2 should it be needed!
how goes the flat selling or did you decide to rent in the end?

Still up for sale I will need to have a plan settled by this time next year. Sold would be best but that doesn't seem likely in this market. Renting it out will add hassle but give me about £4k per year in rental, not to be sniffed at. I am still planning to take early retirement in April 2013. Just need to be able to do the money stuff by then.

Coffee £2.20. I am not going out tonight as I am REALLY sticking to my budget and I went a bit mad yesterday. Someone at work noticed that I have lost weight, it really cheered me up. Making oven gloves, don't ask it's home-made Christmas............

Today is A NO SPENDING DAY, hooray. Not out tonight as I am keeping to a budget. Despite having worked in the same place for over thirty years I managed to get the wrong bus home and found myself in the !!!! end of Wandsworth, never been there before, not really sure how it happened...........
Big meeting tomorrow, accompanied by a free lunch, and hopefully ending at four - excellent.

Handmade Xmas sounds excellent, I hope one day to be confident enough in making things to make that happen.

It is funny how we go into autopilot on journeys - the other day I was convinced I had walked to a completely different tube station, was wondering why the platforms were laid out differently, and the train notification signs had suddenly disappeared. Wasn't until got onto the train and heard the announcement that realised had walked to a stop after the one I thought I was at! Had clearly not 'seen' all of the massive signs (or noticed the change in location):rotfl:!

Went for a drink with my team after the meeting, I bought a round £16.16 plus coffee £2,20. Off to West Yorks tomorrow for an all day planning meeting, could be enjoyable may be annoying. Have made 3 aprons, 2 oven gloves and 150 tea cosies, not a typo I'll explain over the week-end.

Coffee £2.20, cheese and tomato toastie - terrible hangover, £2.95 second coffee - desperate measures - £2.15. I have managed to keep to my budget by dint of not going out much, not really a sustainable way of life.

Still, I am taking out £90 tomorrow, I have decided that £100 is self indulgent I am going to get down to £70 per week by dint of WILL POWER. We shall see.

150 ?? :eek::eek: Am intrigued... first of all why, and secondly how long did it take you? That would probably take me half my life, I'm so slow at craft projects .

It has taken me all year from January last year. Every bus journey, train and plane journey, evening in etc, You can't eat and sew at the same time! And I do it as each year for the last three years I have got a stall at Spitalfields on the first Sunday in December when they do a massive Londonista craft fair. I sell them for £15 each and it pays for my big far eastern holiday or something else major last year it went towards my new bathrooms. My problem is that this year they aren't doing it and so I have 150 tea cosies, !!!!!! am I going to do? Any ideas most gratefully received. I will try and work out how to post a photo.
