I am on the train back to London having had the most lovely pottering break of nearly two weeks. I know that we have been lucky with the weather etc but it has been lovely to be in my house and garden doing "bits". The builders are back to finish a very long list of snagging (over forty things on the list) and also to build in some cupboards , shelves etc so that I can really settle back in. Today I ventured into the cellar for the first time in six months, that explains where al my kitchen stuff is I need to sort that out next week-end.

I have really slogged in the garden and it is looking lovely, I have also planted up my hanging baskets. The plants from Aldi are, as always, very good quality and not expensive. There have been a few too many trip to Homebase and TK Maxx. I need to sit and work out my money.

My brother bought round some kitchen chairs that have been in his garage "for years" they are great. As I have never had any chairs I don't know why it has taken six years for him to think of me but hey don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Back to work tomorrow, oh what joy.

Coffee £2.10, food shopping £30.98. Yes I am back noting my daily spends as money is not so much trickling through my fingers as gushing down the drain.

Not a bad first day back and a short week ahead. I am off to France at the end of the month and USA for work next week, I am now a bit nervous about that even though I know it's silly. Early start at work today, flat looks like it has been a victim of a giant mixer. Back to half an hour of fly lady every day.

Not really doing very well, I seem to be a bit demotivated. Weight stayed the same, that's good I have been cheating. I need to get back onto a £5 a day as that is when I made the most progress. Tomorrow I am off to Boston for an advisory board, that will be fun especially as I am off to New York for the week-end.

I think the best thing is not to go mad in the US I don't need anything. I am also off to Normandy for a few days at the end of May so it isn't going to be a month where I make any extra over-payments.

Still, don't go mad and be ready for June feels positive.

Sorry your feeling unmotivated- think we all get that sometimes. Well done on the WW thing- I have just joined having failed to make any progress any other way! so any tips you have please pass my way :)
Little goals can help me when feeling demotivated- feeling ready for June sounds a good one!

It is raining and cold here in Boston, I may have to buy a jumper! Looking forward to the next few days as it will do me good to get my brain in gear, speaking and thinking about nanotechnology at a two day meeting, and then it's New York for pleasure, the Alexander McQueen show and the garment district-heaven. I am working to a budget of $300 which is 50% of my payment less tax for the 2 day meeting. The rest will go to the mortgage.

Also am trying to be careful of what I eat, I need not to put on any weight despite the mammoth portions. I ask for two plates and cut everything in half, what a waste, they just wont give you a small portion. Yesterday evening I ordered two starters thinking they would be small, WRONG.

I am meeting an ex work colleague tonight, she lives here now. It will be lovely to see her.

Sounds like a fab trip - hope you enjoy it. It is crazy the American portions, I was brought up to finish everything on my plate too :rotfl:! Can only ever twice a day in the US - breakfast and dinner. Usually too full up for lunch!

Good news about paying half to the mortgage too.

Hope you have a great night.
