I am eating a GIANT bar of Dairymilk, all to myself. I do have hot water so I may just wait for pay day before getting the work done. My last boiler lasted 16 years with just a regular service, rubbish appliances are very annoying.
  • I can't believe the cost of repair. My whole new potterton combi boiler was only £700. Crazy.
  • What a !!!!!! about the boiler! Can you look at quoting sale of goods act at whoever sold it to you? It is reasonable to expect a boiler to last several years before needing repair.

Take a look at http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk to see if that helps.

Coffee £2, board meeting yesterday which went on a bit. Followed by a corporate dinner. No good news on the boiler and the manufacturers were not helpful, strong letter sent to MD immediately. I could wait for 1 December and not add to my debts which is what I think I'll do as I am away for the next two week-ends and getting any more time off is hard at the minute.

Kitchen in the north has to be designed today otherwise I am holding up progress. Bathrooms are in which is a big step forward. Completion to be on 18 December, I can't wait.

On t he train home from Harrogate having had a lovely week-end with friends. Even better they very kindly helped me with my kitchen design including asking other friends if I could come over and see their new kitchen for inspiration! It was lovely and really helped me decide what to do so I shall get on with that this week. I am being very bad with money and I don' t know why......Ten days to pay day and only pound coins to live on but I HAVE to get back on the budgeting round otherwise I will have £180k debt which will add a year to the mortgage.
Work still a bit challenging, interesting week ahead.
  • Good luck with the week ahead Toots, I think just being aware of the need to budget is beneficial - keeping stuff like this at the forefront of our minds can be super-motivating!

Thanks QueenBee I certainly do need to keep budgeting somewhere in my frontal lobe. Still I feel back on track today with the amazing news that my new rate drops my interest from £870 per month to £503 so I really need to hammer the mortgage down whilst the rates are so low, the week-end may be spent looking for a new 0% deal as the big payments would be better off the mortgage. Off to Paris today for a meeting, looking forward to it.

Yesterday I spent: coffee £2, fruit and veg £10.81
  • Great news about the rate drop!!
I now have a pic of a house in my wallet (in front of my cards!) which helps kerb the spending somewhat.... I think when I see a "bargain" I still want it go for it so the next step is questioning whether I "need" it ...
is the taking a certain amount out weekly working for you?
    enjoy paris!! :)

TYO, thank-you, that's it I have stopped doing the daily money, I will get back to it today £5 a day is BACK ON TRACK. Check this out though, I have finished my Christmas shopping, go me.

I am now working on a stretch of 21 days where I have to go to work every day, this is madness so I need to do a bit of staff negotiation today and get a few days off otherwise I will be dead on my feet.
  • Wow! Well done on finishing Xmas shopping. Any bargains/pressie ideas you'd like to share?

21 days in a row is too too much, definitely time to negotiate.

Good luck with the daily moneys, I'm sure you can get back on track.

Thanks for the advice about the certificate of lawfulness, hope you don't have too much hassle sorting out permissions for your window.
