What ...... when .......... why ........... good god where am I? Spoon? PDD? Katenut? LFV? BigMumma? anyone? where are you all? Last thing I remember is going off to the aquarium on Brighton sea-front to rescue the donkeys from the piranahs - then, nothing ........... I must have blacked-out or something - just what did you put in that vodka Spoon? has everyone gone home? what are all these pebbles on the ground? and what are all those donkeys doing? what on earth have I just put my hand in? Ugh it's reddish purple - a bit like beetroot really but a bit too 'processed' for my liking!

Lets see - I remember the flight down with me helium balloons (great views of London by the way - that new Wembley stadium looks fantastic), landing on top of the Pavilion, getting down with me ladders from me stockings (ruined my circus look - nothing worse that a beautiful basque with laddered stockings), drinking lots of vodka, trying to keep BigMumma away from the firemen (they didn't stand a chance poor things), the menagerie on the beach (donkeys, horse, dragon, cow, and aliens of course), having a lovely BBQ steak (oops delete one of those donkeys), then searching for everyone at the aquarium as I'd heard that the gang had took the donkeys to feed the piranahs so I'd gone off to find them, I remember going into the aqaurium, then Kapow - it was just like the lights went out ................... until just now

So either I blacked-out or my internet connection went down and has just gone back on today. Did everyone get back OK - by horse, dragon, lawnmower, Werewolf, .......... etc? Good night wasn't it - I think - ouch my head!!!
Good to see you back 3Dogs, I was worried that your balloons had collapsed part way home and you'd ended up in a pile of manure in a field somewhere ... mind you, that probably wouldn't have been very different to Brighton beach on Monday:rotfl: I didn't put anything in the vodka, honest, but you would insist on drinking it neat from the bottle, so headache to be expected really:p
And yes, it was a good night, although we are now officially banned from Brighton and Edinburgh.. somewhere different next time methinks;)

Morning all - just catching up with you all - what a lot happens in just one day!
Herby - so sorry to hear about your wee cat. I had the same situation about a year ago when I had to put my old boy to sleep. ((((HUGS))))

Made it #2 yesterday!:j Well chuffed! Today is a spend day though as I need to do a big stock up of groceries. Have been living out of freezer and cupboards for the last few weeks. Its amazing how if you put your mind to it you can eat perfectly well using what you've got. Makes for some interesting combos though! Before this I would just keep buying stuff and sticking it in the cupboard! Now Ive got space to fill!

I also need to get a needle to stitch up my cardi - its thick wool and I dont have a needle big enough plus I need a button. So its off to my friendly wool shop this afternoon. My next project is a baby cardi for a neighbour who is due her first baby in August.

Hope the sun is shining on you today - have a lovely day everyone:)

Wow Jintyb, you're so lucky to have a wool shop nearby. I'm an occasional knitter - though I was taught by my grandma in the 60s on a pair of washed and boiled meat skewers from the butcher (real old style living) :money: by a gran that used to knit huge blankets with leftover bits of wool to be put under the sheets to keep the sheet off of the mattress. Sounds like another world doesn't it.

My local woolshops have been dying out over the years so that now I'd have to drive for about 40 mins to get to my nearest one. So it's ebay for me.

My cat is improving slowly. He's still hopping around on 3 legs and looking very forlorn but he has started eating a little so fingers crossed he's on the mend. I just hope that when he's allowed out again he doesn't start fighting again, I can't afford vets bills of that magnitude.:(

Herbie, how are you doing honey? There have been some lovely posts on here I sincerely hope they have helped.

Spoon I've just noticed, your avatar and mine might just make us family members what do you think? BTW can I bring my pet heffalump to the next meet up? He's one of the purple variety and well house trained. :rotfl::rotfl:

I've got to wait in for a parcel to be collected today so I'm hoping that I can make today a nsd. I need a few things but I've decided that I can do without spuds and rubber gloves for a day and I'll wait till I do my shopping tomorrow.

So today is housework, knitting, watching TV, sitting on the balcony reading and a lot of forum surfing. Sounds like heaven :A

    What's everyone else up to?

Hi moneypenny, I'm doing as well as can be expected I guess, just read all the lovely posts (many thanks everyone) still very teary and the slightest thing sets me off, alarm went off this morning and half asleep I waited for the little chink, chink, chink as my baby would wander up the stairs to jump on the bed to say morning mummy and it never came :(

We still have another cat, but the house rules was one for me and one for DH, their rules not ours, but DH's cat is being very supportive, he's not as affectionate as my cat was but he is being more attentive. He's also a little sad as he's lost his partner in crime, but we're helping each other. It was lovely to read all your kind comments everyone, I know I did the right thing, but I still feel bad, the most awful thing was the vet offering to glue his eyes shut seconds after he'd passed, I didn't know what to say how would he be able to see me if he comes back for a visit if his eyes we're glued together!

The odd thing was DH didn't have time to bury my baby yesterday morning he had to go back to work, so we left him in a box in the garage. When he came home DH dug the huge hole (I have bad back so couldn't do it) and we had a little funeral. Ever since I saw Poltergeist in the 80's and the little girl buried her goldfish with photo, food etc. I've done the same, all my little darlings go to the big comfy sofa in the sky with a toy, some treats, a photo of me and a little bunch of rosemary and heartsease if it's in season. I say what I need to and always end up crying and DH covers them up with soil and tucks them in. I can't believe how much better I felt after the kitty funeral, it's a stupid sentimental ritual but it did me good and despite crying as I write this, 'talking' about it is doing me good as well. You sort of tell yourself that you did something wrong, so it's nice that everyone understands, I know the wrong thing would be to do what was my instinct and keep him with me as long as I could, but that would have been so wrong for him on so many levels.

Sorry for the long waffle, I work alone at home so don't get out and talk to many people so I type 'ears' off instead. I did buy chocolate last night, so it wasn't an NSD I ate almost a full bag of galaxy counters it was magic chocolate though because when I weighed myself this morning I'd lost 1lb DH said it's fluid loss from all the tears shed yesterday, good job I love him. Today will be slow and steady but I'm not going to give up my new MSE ways, hoping to report an NSD later today as we have everything in for the meal planned tea and I have left over chicken fajitas for lunch and no reason at all to go out and spend (bought extra chocolate yesterday just in case I needed more today!) Thanks again everyone for the support and kind words, it made my first morning without Pye easier to bare :heart2:
