    Oh Prettypennies...

DS cracked the bath (accidentally, he threw a toy in) so I had a new suite in my old house.
DD once bit DS - they were in the lounge and I could hear her wail changing pitch, warned him that she was giving him warning wails- suddenly there was a scream and 'she bit me...'
(She was a late talker. ExH said she couldn't get a word in.)
Cot sides came off, safety gates game down all before she was 2 - I figured it was safer letting her 'travel' rather than climb out of anything and everything. God she was feisty. Tiny but feisty. She once (at about 3) took on some 'big boys' who were splashing her brother in the swimming baths. She gave them an earful along the lines of 'leave my bruvver alone'...they were so taken aback that they did! She announced, just after we moved here (so about 2years 8 months) that she would no longer be wearing a nappy at night, she didn't need one. Number of wet beds 0! (This came as a great surprise to me)
She had some funny phrases too. The opposite of bottom was toppam. She was once being given a shoulder ride by her dad who asked, in all seriousness, if she was weraing knickers. (It was summer) well she had started the day fully clothed, decided to 'go commando' and then giggled evilly when remonstrated with about the inadvisability of removing clothing!
DS burnt a hole in my car seat cover with the cigarette lighter (he paid for that - his pocket money was stopped for over a year)
DS broke a pane of glass in grandparents greenhouse (for which I totally blame them for giving a 3YO a golf ball and club to play with)
DS fell in their pond...he was leaning over and ignored warnings from me not to - I was telling him he would fall in - I can still picture him. It's how he earned his Red Indian name

    Swimming with Tadpoles

though mine NEVER stripped wallpaper or crayonned on walls, they never posted things they shouldn't have into the video (I taught them how to work it).
DS locked himself and his sister (in the bathroom - she's be about 14 months at the time. Luckily it was on the ground floor.
They both went carpet surfing down the stairs at that time too - I think it was a berber style carpet. DS got severe carpet burns on his tummy. DD was saved by her 'body' vest (the type that clips under.).
DD's first asthma attack resulted in a hospital admission - she was unconscious when we got to the docs - I just thought she was 'drowsy'
just before we moved here DS wrote his name (in pencil) on the aluminium door handles in our old house and asked with wonder how I knew it was him. It was his name *rolleyes*

and we can go on and on about pelvic floors, inflating and deflating boobs, cracked nipples *wince* prolapsed uterus and bowel (if you're really unlucky). haemorrhoids (sp) varicose veins...

BUT I have loved it, I adore them (but don't tell them, please ;))

Hi I thought I should pop in and say hello. Thanks rose and DK for asking about me and mine.

We are all okay but I have to admit I was terrified as we were in town shopping when we heard the news on the radio. Things are quite different here ATM and I haven't been flying at all.

Our internet is also very fragile and keeps disappearing.

    Morning ladies,

Sorry to keep going on about my wedding arrangements - just spoke to the manager who was meant to call us (and never did - I just called him) and everything is ok for our afternoon tea reception, which is great - the only reason he wanted to call is because the guy we had been dealing with had only been working full time for a couple of weeks, and he wanted make sure that as the word "wedding" had been mentioned, that he had all of the facts straight. Assistant manager will call us later today or tomorrow. What a relief!!!86440045.PCDDqeEw.nailbiting.gif86440058.7L5LRh9N.phew.gif

Also just ordered the asda bridesmaid dress for my bridesmaid so that she can try it on, as at £30:money:, you can't really go wrong, and it would compliment my dress really well. Should arrive in our local store about mid-week this week.:)

Flying wise, I've just cleaned the bathroom sink so that I can wash my face in it, and can't get some of the limescale off from behind the taps and between them, despite using toilet cleaner in the end. Any suggestions? We live in a hard water area, and because it hasn't been cleaned regularly recently :o the limescale has built up.

Well I'm off to wash my face and then go into town to get a starbucks breakfast as it's saturday.

Oh btw - I've held off in case she wanted to tell you herself, but LadyLiberty had the scan - she said it went ok, but she was feeling sick and shakey when she came out, so I expect she hasn't felt up to coming online yet, but just wanted to reassure you all that I'd heard from her and she's ok. Hugs to you if you're reading this LadyL.

    Off I go,

    sexymouse xx

    Morning all

I don't know what happened to the heavy showers we were supposed to have today - must keep an eye on the plants, as I didn't water much last night in anticipation. I still haven't got my normal energy levels back and will take it steady to be fit for work on Monday.

Plan for the rest of today:
More QHCs and planting DS2 window boxes.
Last lots of laundry - only two small loads, I think. :j

    Must do's this weekend:
Finalise child care arrangements for DS2 next week.
Drop plant and card off for DS1's friend's mum, who looked after DS2 last Friday (and hope she'll offer to have him again next Friday :o).
    Buy birthday present/card for friend.
Buy Kathy Reichs book from Mr A's (lots cheaper than Mr M) and ask DS1 to hide it until school stuff is done - I might get to read it next year at this rate. :o
Take frozen ground beef from Costco to MIL's - not cheap, but revolting, so she can give it to the dog.

I've had my two cuppas, so no excuse not to get going.. I'll do a couple of hours, then might go out to run errands so I don't have to do it tomorrow.
Sexymouse - glad all the arrangements are working out now.
    Poohbear - (((((((hugs)))))))
LadyL - hope you are feeling better today
Greenbee - I'm sure you'd manage fine by yourself, but I agree that it's not the ideal way to go about it. Keep socialising!!!

Hope you all have a good day. x

    Hi,

I'm laughing at all the storys of troublesome children.:rotfl:

When Ds1 was between 3 & 6 he used to get up at 5.30 every morning regardless of what time he'd gone to bed. The things i woke up to. Once he tipped his entire paint collection over the kitchen carpet. He used to eat anything he could get his hands on and when i'd hidden all the nice things he'd get a loaf of bread, take off the crusts and roll the rest into a ball and sit and eat it. These things only stopped once i'd taught him to work the video player and get his own cereal.

Another time we lived on the 1st floor of a house that had been converted into 2 flats. We'd just had tea and i went into the kitchen to get the pudding. When i came back in he'd climbed onto the table and was outside the window on the ledge.:eek::eek: I had to creap up really quietly behind him and grab him before i startled him. He also threw my mobile out of the window to see if it would break.

Ds2 thankfully isn't do bad, i can't think of anything he's done like that. Oh yes he go through a stage of ripping the wallpaper off in his bedroom.

SexyMouse - thanks for the update on LadyL.

Greenbee - I forgot to mention the time when my neighbour's daughter's BF parked his flashy new car in their driveway. My little darlings decided to lean over the fence and panel beat the bonnet with a couple of yard brushes. That was one of the more expensive incidents.

Then there are the half termly trips to casualty.
DS2's head versus tree/brick/fireplace/shed/fencepost/saw/wallunit/table leg dropped from tree/playground and so on.

Right I have been round the house and found the following bulbs need replacing:

    Bathroom mirror x2
    Cooker hood x1
Microwave (not sure this can be replaced)
    Kitchen wall unit x1
Main oven (light casing boogered so can't do this one myself either)
    Kitchen spot lights x3

soak kitchen roll in vinegar, wrap it tightly round the problem area and leave it. Then go back and attack it with an old toothbrush. Keep repeating.

    Great news on the wedding.:T:T

    Thanks Valli :D

Hippobags on front lawn moved to vaguely suitable area for collection (I don't want to actually leave them IN the drive for what could be a whole week, as it'll be irritating). Collection booked and paid for so they'll be gone by the end of the week. I think one of them may be overfilled, so might re-arrange the contents on Monday if I'm up to it. CBA to take anything more to the tip...

Suppose I should do some flying ... :o

Mine did this at 18 months.. a week after DS2 arrived!, the morning after I came home with him. Then DD2 did it at 19 month the day after I brought DS3 home from hospital... I am STILL waiting for DD3 to do the same and she is almost 10.

I ended up carrying spare pants for mine.. Tiddles even now prefers to have air! But the number of times I got DD1 to nursery knickerless. DD4 hid a pair of hers at nursery never to be seen again! She didn't wear clothes from being 14 months until she was about 4.. we had her streaking round tesco on more than one occasion!

DS fell in their pond...he was leaning over and ignored warnings from me not to - I was telling him he would fall in - I can still picture him. It's how he earned his Red Indian name

My brother ended up in the park pond doing the same!

See.. now if you weren't defective you'd be fine.. lol... My friend has a 'pelvic basement' too low to be a floor!! Mines fine despite having 3 times as many children as her.. but I was well behaved and religiously did the clenching thing.. (couldn't tell if it was in or not otherwise.. PMSL) My boobs have been up and down more times than a pair of hot air balloons! I only had nipple issues after DD1.. Heaps, V. Veins etc are often hereditary.. but not in my family.. TMI but my stepdad has a large V. Vein in his scrotum he is off to have fixed..

My insides have had more stitches than a king size patchework quilt!

holly.. the day I received my new mobile one of them dumped it in a boiling hot cuppa.. the next week it went in the paddling pool... excellent ad for nokia there lol aged 3 DD3 sneaked down the stairs in the middle of the night and ate an ENTIRE 18 servings chocolate fudge cake!! Then despite being brown said it wasn't her and we had mice!

Cheeky beggars! I wouldn't have dreamed of commenting, as it's not really anybody else's business. The only reason I'm already dressed is the appointment I had at 10.15.
