2: Much
3: My iPad was given a spec of 10 hours of video playback. I watched it on a plane 12 hours straight with 10% of battery left... Apple have got the battery spot on now and you'll see when it comes out
4: No one wanted to use it because 1) it cost, 2) it was bad quality, 3) 3G networks sucked... This will be completely different for different purposes.
A lot of your arguments seem to be because you haven't seen or don't believe them.. battery life, screen, processor etc.. Just wait till it comes out
2. Unlikely. The iPhone is likely to use an underclocked version of the iPad's A4, which is barely faster than the Snapdragon.
3. If you use it as an music iPod only, yes the battery lasts a long time.
4. The video calling is a complete fail, even you have to admit that. First of all you have to be sure the person you are calling also has an iPhone, then you have to check whether they have the latest iPhone 4 rather than a 3GS, and then you have to check whether they are at home in range of a WiFi connection. In which case you could just fire up your computer and get better quality videoconferencing with a decent webcam.poppy100 -

Will be impressive if they can do it, I'm, on Vodafone and looking to port...0 -

The point is you don't.
If all the conditions are satisfied you get the option, if no you never see it. You don't check anything the phone does it itself.0 -
Hey Poppy
1) Blown up on a huge projector (thus less quality) its very obvious the quality diff with previous models and previous displays.. I can't wait to see it in person but its better than OLED... Have you not seen an OLED display? They're amazing!
2) Look at the stats above
3) Even video lasts a long long time.. general battery life of the device is great which was the point
4) Yeh I was disappointed at the restrictions, but 3rd party apps will utilise the camera better, and its the beginning of a new protocol which will be improved and optimised and change the way users communicate as always[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Don't forget software also affects speed... The browser will be optimised for it's own processor thus it won't be worse performance than a snapdragon device in any way shape or form... Though we definitely have to wait for those stats I guess[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Well, the O2 online shop has crashed! I guess everyone's trying to sign up for their iPhone 4 micro sim or trying to buy a 3GS to upgrade to iOS4!0

Calm down. I expect that as Apple are making it "open", we'll see some backward and multiplatform compliant apps coming out fairly soon from the likes of Skype. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

A bit miffed myself to be honest, my O2 contract due to run out end of Oct this year.0 -
