I rang Tesco at 10am this morning and just now; 2pm. Both times they've confirmed their systems are down and to ring back tomorrow, but they say that have plenty in stock.

If anyone manages to get through, please place a reply here so at least those trying to get through to Tesco can try again!! :-)

    What's your old phone ?

If your acc has roaming on it any tri band phone will work in the US. But don't use any data, on some US networks you'll be changed up to £10 a meg.

old phone iphone 3g - do I need to change my sim?

I don't, but, for anyone with any yellow dots, lines or whatever, seems as those early reporters are now saying the yellow is disappearing, it was just glue drying out??!?? Odd lol

That'll work in the US as it is. Call CS ask if roaming's on your acc and if it's not get them to added.

BUT I'd go in to the phone and switch off all data service or you'll come back to a HUGE bill (I've seen people run up a grand roaming and that's the lower end).

Remember that none of your free stuff works outside the UK. Calling back the UK is something like 40 to 50p a minute (depends on which US network you're roaming on) and it cost you to receive calls and texts.
Your network should be able to give you all the costs..

    Hey guys

I got my ip4 next to me! i have to say it really is impressive!

( i was the first person in devon ha- what a claim to fame!)

I have synced it with itunes etc.

But still have no service from 02... cant get hold of them for no love or money.. i have a display message when the iphone is turned on to say waiting for activation this may take a while... so im guessing 02 are working through activating the sims.

Anybody else had this? or has had an 02 ( new contract) and havent had to wait?

Fondle-slab now on charge on my desk.

    First impressions?

Feels nice in my hand, reception does not appear to be a problem, but I don't have iTunes at work. (Was activated in store) so can't do much else.

Feels pretty nippy in use, and I have a feeling I'm leaving everything open on it.

Email setup (gmail and NTL) was pretty easy.

Overall pretty pleased, but time will tell, never had an iphone before so bit of a learning curve to using it.. Plus given the limited stock I'm pretty much the envy of all the apple fanboi's here at the moment :rotfl:

It seems things are now coming out that this problem is from a batch initialy sent to AT&T which happened to be one of the first manufactured and for some reason a bunch of them made it to the UK.

If it's one specific batch then it will probably see one network start to have the issues, IE all the ones sent to Vodafone will probably be the same batch.

If we see it across companies that will be another issue.

That said holding mine so I'm touching across all aeriel splits / joins doesn't make any different to signal a solid 4 bars which isn't bad or here.
