How do people find 3? I am seriously considering going with them for the iPhone 4 but heard some shocking reviews about the network and signal strength. They were even on Watchdog! But I suppose consumers complain about every network and I keep thinking they can't be that bad, can they?

I live in Sheffield and it has been fine for the 2 years I've been on 3, was also fine in France and Spain no problems. Better signal than my husband gets on orange.

Do you think this would have been sorted out for the iPhone 4? Vodafone appear to have the best deal at the moment on contract with the most mobile data at 1GB!

Although maybe the 3 deal might be even better??

My friend has an iPhone on Vodafone. He's says he has major reception problems with his iPhone 3GS in areas he used to have no problems with his previous phone. I always thought Vodafone were good - he's only 6 months into an 18 month contract so would be keen to know if this is a fault more widespread.

Generally though, reception can vary from area to area. You'll get some people saying that a network is fantastic and others saying the same network is awful. Guess you'll need to ask people in the area that you live/work for specific user experience. You can always check the networks website for coverage. If it says fine and it's not, then you might have some leverage.

I was with them for 18 months and they were fine for reception and I'm in an area where I couldn't even get T-Mobile in the downstairs of my house and had to go upstairs whenever I wanted to use my mobile!! So 3 were miles better than T-Mobile.

I currently have Vodafone and the reception is fine where I live, but I have heard that on the iphone the reception isn't as good - but surely it's all from the same mast??

Can I just point out that although O2 will limit internet to 500MB a month for new or upgrade contracts, if you go over 500MB you will not be charged extra, your speed will just be reduced for the remainder of that month. I'm sure many of you knew this but just wanted to highlight it again.

Iphone signal reception is a known weakness with current and past models, Apple have addressed this on the iPhone 4 by making the side metal bits the aerial
