What if your phone breaks after 12 months, and you're locked in for a further 12 with no phone?
It might be worth your while doing an 18 month contract and 6 months Simplicity. Here is a comparison spreadsheet I made that compares these options: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ApfeHZ96DqZMdGIwd0lfV2sxRHlwWWV4NW4zYUVaVVE&hl=en_GB#gid=0
Excellent spreadsheet
Easy to see the various options, clearly a lot of helpful info0 -

Great work :T.
Although this morning I was buying PAYG from Apple and about to transfer from Orange to a O2 simplicity. Then funds fell through.....
So this afternoon decided to upgrade to £35pm on Orange, 24 month contract, £119 handset. Then I looked at this spreadsheet.....
Now I have no bl00dy idea.

Well done with that. Looking forward to seeing it once t-mobile, voda, tesco and 3 get their prices out!!
It does show that the way I want to go (16Gb black sim free and Simplicity £15) is the best option for the minutes I want (300) and the freedom to sell the phone "risk free" when the next iPhone comes out if I want to.In the beginning, the universe was created. Are you sure about that? If its coming out with a webcam I will wait!
You are joking aren't you? Have you watched the vids on the Apple website?Whens iphone 5 out?
Ah.. No.. I see you are not joking.... 7 days before iPhone 4 comes out, on (as near as makes no difference) the anniversary of the release of the iPhone 3GS, 2 years after the 3G and three years after the release of the first iPhone, you are asking when the NEXT iPhone is going to be released. Errr.... Next year perhaps?Sorry to quote again but whats wi-max?
It's when you drop your Nintendo games console in a bucket full of Pepsi.
I know I'm taking the mickey here, but come on!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Don't bother with either 300minute O2 contracts - it is cheaper to the go the Simplicity route, and you're out of contract after 12 months: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ApfeHZ96DqZMdGIwd0lfV2sxRHlwWWV4NW4zYUVaVVE&hl=en_GB#gid=00

Thanks very much for the spreadsheet link, that's a fantastic way to see what's best. As many have said the Simplicity 300 is looking very appealing.
It would really help us all if the other networks would just tell us their plans. I hoping that the other networks announce by the 24th so that we can get a clear picture. I don't have to be the first to have one, but I'd like on as soon as possible. I don't want to rush into it though and then find that one of the other networks offers a better deal.0 -

Technically you can buy an applecare plan from ebay which will give you another years warranty for about £20! I know it works as i've used one myself. I personally would never dream of a 24 month contract, I struggled to get my head round the 18 monthers when they first started to be the norm.
EDIT: Got an Apple care plan for a friend for £20 about two weeks ago, cheapest on ebay atm is HERE he will accept offers of £22 it would seem
Simplicity all the way :THardcore moneysaver0 -
Is it just me who thinks this phone is vastly over priced??0

i am upset about the price but not surprised- even though they said it would be a fantastic price
